Praising the update

Jagex has finally done what I have been complaining about for years. Along with the graphical overhaul they added distance fog to replace the "black" that we used to have past our field of view. It no longer looks like night all the time!

Metal fans, check out my band!

with the update to graphics and proposed bank update this month I agree jagex are finally releasing quality updates ::'

You only live twice. Once when you are born and once when you look death in the face.

Do not fear Death. Death is always at our side. When we show fear, it jumps at us faster than light. But, if we do not show fear, it casts its eye upon us gently and then guides us into infinity...

The fog is a little strange... They could have set its density lower, and set its offset a little lower too. That would make the transition smoother - although I'm talking out of experience from using the Crysis sandbox, and I have no idea what java can do.

The quality of updates does seem to have risen dramatically, I'm really glad I took out a membership this month.

Quality updates? Yeah, the new graphical update seems better than what they usually give us, but it (and all new releases) is still in dire need of a proper quality control. Every single update they have done since the start of Runescape has been filled with bugs, some serious, some more of a minor scale. They haven't even bothered fixing old ones that have been reported for a very long time. They shouldn't be so concerned about quantity (an update every week), more on quality (everything works 100% prior to release). Rushing something and forgetting to check it for errors will just make the company look sloppy and unprofessional in the eyes of the end-user. Heh, now I'm just ranting.

As for the fog... Well, it's definitely a progress. It could be made better, like variable distance fading, but for now, it's pretty damn good as it is. :)

all updates will suffer from bugs -.-

I mean quality updates as in updates wanted by the players, not say removal of wilderness/trade limits or just a quest per month like always, this time we have a newer bank/item lending and improved graphics (things players have asked for since xmas updates/beginning of rs2). Quality may have been bad word to use though

Its nice, the effects in the desert and in the ghost port are pretty impressive but in cities it looks a bit strange but ye a vast improvement on the old solid wall of black

Theres a fine line between not listening and not caring,

I like to think I walk this line every day.

Pinning blame on Jagex is like trying to put pants on an old man.

You both know he needs them, but he'll just keep dancing around, avoiding them at all costs.

i like the new grahpic updates though it will be even better when they iron out all the graphic glitches that come with beta

and please dont flame me for this but i dont think f2p should get this for w while but should be able to get a very very small trial time

Check it out, huge amount of effort has gone into this massive mod!
