Yes we're so very much untrusted. So why is it that The United States of America entrusted a few atheists to make the atomic bomb? In God We Trust, right? Or is it in atheists we trust? I'm confused....

 

 

 

Please, I'm absolutely DYING to know where you found that atheists are the most untrusted group in the world, because the last time I checked, they are usually more trusted due to the fact they're not being blinded by any personal propaganda.

Pagan religions are technically any religion other than Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, and Buddhism. So yes, it's a bit of an umbrella term.

Also:Not all christians are crazypreacher followers. I officially am a christian, but I never go to the church or any place like that. For the biggest part of us, we became christian while being babies and never took the time to change that fact, it'd be too much hassle.

 

 

 

Oh, btw, muslims have far worse reputation than christians(I am not saying that Ibelieve they are bad persons. It's just the average north american's opinion.)

From my experience alot of atheists hate religion. They believe it the cause of war and such and they think everyone other than them fanatical. No wonder they are lest moral than people who believe in a God. What is it to them if they decide to have an abortion or go and cheat a man out of his business. They don't care about others as much as they care about themselves, contrary to Catholic teaching which says you have to die to yourself so you can die for others. Think of others before yourself and you will be rewarded infinitely more than 7 times 77 times 7 times 7 of what you gave up.

I have a degree in religious studies, I'm atheist, to a point. I have a large amount of family and friends who believe in god, i even have family members who are part of the church (i wont say how far, because that could lead to IRL repercussions)

 

 

 

Let me start over, im not exactly atheist, I know about almost ever known religion and in detail at that- I believe there are powers in the universe greater than the human, i do not however believe that a single omnipotent being made mankind specifically and watches over and loves us all. someone earlier made a metaphor with buckets, about how a small bucket cant fill a great bucket etc, well, think about a third option, what about one bucket filling a bucket of equal size? where's your god now? he/it is us, and to reiterate on a point also in that post we DO have the power to create equals, cloning isnt perfect, but it does exist.

Religion WAS the cause of MANY wars, modern times are different, religion doesnt play large roles in war anymore, past the fact that umm, Hitler was cleansing the world in the name of god... Bush is exterminating terrorists.. in what? the name of god.. so thats a poor statement to say religion, and christianity at that doesnt cause wars.

 

 

 

as for saying your more moral ^^ we are human, and nothing more. we are able to commit murder, given the right circumstances, all religion and going to church does, is reinforce SOME good virtues, most of which are common sense in the world.

 

 

 

Saying atheists are the root of all evil is the stupidest thing ive ever heard, because we dont accept god as reality, that makes us immoral crude and brutish? First off, I'd like to state that I am also Catholic. On to my point.....

 

 

 

Highlighted in red: That's actually kind of accurate. After all it was the root of the conflict during the Crusades. Christians and Muslims stereotypically don't get along to this day because of the Crusades.

 

 

 

And the stuff highlighted in blue: That's just flat out untrue. Just because they don't believe in God it doesn't automatically make them horrible people. People of any religion/no religion or background have morals. Just because they don't believe in God, it doesn't mean that they can't tell the difference between right and wrong. Also remember that there are plenty of people who do believe in God that are bad people and vise versa. All people have the capacity to be good or evil no matter what their beliefs or morals and you should never accuse people wrong doing because of their religion or lack of it.

Thats right, something cannot make something greater than itself. If we have sentience, then the thing that made us must have sentience also. In order to make all the things around us, it must have the power to do that also, thus is greater than us.

Yah it shocked me too. But my friend (Whom i will refer to as 'Bob') Believes that Saradomin, Guthix, etc. In Runescape gives off a pagan reference because of all the gods. Personally i believe he is paranoid becuase he hasnt played RuneScape til he thought of that. I don't know what to think. Has anyone noticed this also or is he just paranoid?

Second of all, yes it does. It's a polytheistic world in Runescape. Polytheism = Not Monotheism = Paganism, in a rough generalized version.

See in your utopian society, religion is the focal point. Now think of it from a person who doesn't believe in your religion. Aren't you oppressing them? In a true harmonized society religion would play no part in the government at all. Every citizen would be allowed to believe what they want, and practice what they want. Churches of all kinds would exist together, realizing that they believe different things, yet never fighting because of it. That would be my idea of utopia, and I think it would work just fine.

 

 

 

To all christians, be happy that you've found your salvation in something you're adamant on, but never press it on another person, because there are some of us who aren't as lucky as you. We haven't found our true calling and aren't settling for anything less.
