Caxis
Pure refers to characters that either focus on a certain combat style, or a character that focuses on skills. Combat based pures usually don't have much prayer or defence. The advantage is that a pure will have a low combat level, but a higher magic/range/strength than a character that trains other combat skills. A skill pure, or skiller is a character that has a low combat level but high non-combat skills.
Pinkbullet3
I'm not big on pures... So, you can only find the combat pures in BH (and maybe FoG) nowadays? ^ Blog.
Stilev
not really important now since almost all pures died with the wilderness
Atroxide
All I know about pures is that when new content gets released and they can't do it then they complain because they don't want a combat level. Pures Suck
Mike_Ike111
Here is the equation of a pure: Pures have low defense, usually around level 1-2. Because pures have low defense, they can then be classified as someone who does not like training certain skills. People who do not like training certain skills are usually picky at things in real life. They do not like certain foods, they only wear certain things, and they wipe their butt only certain ways. Therefor, these people (pures), have bad hygiene because of their butt wiping technique. People with bad hygiene are normally lazy. Lazy people usually never have a tan because they don't go outside. If you never have a tan you cannot show up to your job with a nice 'beach tan' that says out loud, "Yes fellow men and women of my work, I did use a fake sick cough on the phone to go fishing and drink beer". People who lie are deceptive. Ninjas are deceptive. Thusly, Pures are ninjas in disguise.
InkofDeath
Loving the stereotypes, and how they make you look like an idiot. : Pures are usually 1 defense, 40 or 60 attack, and high strength. Though there are ranger and magic pures. Also rune pures with 40 defense to wield the rune, also have 40-70 attack. Actually there's countless variations of pures. Now however, pures get high strength, and keep everything else low, so they can have 99 strength in low level BH. This is the new generation of pures. Honestly if you want detailed info, and wondering about the current community of pures: www.purecommunity-rs.com Will answer a lot.

Everyone who isnt a pirate is a pure and is thus horrible at everything!! Or maybe it was just every combat skill affected your combat level, not just your highest of the three styles, so every time you leveled up a combat related skill your combat went up. Personally, I don't see how being a pure helped after RS2 came out. I guess I never was a big PKer, so I guess it probably had to give them a slight edge, but I don't think it was as great as the original RS1 pures had.
