EarthySun
My main account has been playing for four years now, and most of my friends are Moderators. I have no Black Marks on the account, I have sent in many Abuse Reports and Bug Reports, am nice and helpful in-game and on the Official Forums, and yet, I am not a Moderator. Can some Mods please tell me what they did to become a Moderator? I'm not obsessed with it (like some people are), I'm just surprised. O_o So, basically Earthysun is Jesus's only son. 123_x_pac
I'm not Mod but I can tell you that it doesn't matter how long you've been playing, how your behaviour is or how many black marks you get, Jagex decides if your good enough for the job. Zierro
Remember, not everyone is going to be a mod - regardless of how qualified they are. First, you must be certified. Then, you must be lucky. Also, I'd like to add that Jagex looks at the quality of your reports rather than the quantity.
EarthySun
I make sure that the reports are legitimate. O_o Example: Where the door near the Grain Tower said 'Open' when closed. I think that classifies as a bug, even though it's a minor one. So, basically Earthysun is Jesus's only son.

You've just gotta stay active, helpful, and wait your turn.
EarthySun
It's just that most of my friends are Moderators and I'm nothing. They don't fully consider me an equal anymore. So, basically Earthysun is Jesus's only son.
Laura
Hehe. While I can't tell you how to become a moderator, I can tell you: Use proper grammar and spelling. Send in accurate reports, quantity means nothing. I don't think bug reports will do you much, if any good, it can't hurt. Oh, and stick with your moderator friends, they'll help you out. Am I a Runescape moderator? Maybe.
EarthySun
Thanks, Laura. ^_^ I suppose my Mod friends could help. So far I believe I meet most (if not all) of the requirements for Moderation. O_o So, basically Earthysun is Jesus's only son.
Italian5kamikaze
Why would you want to be one? Hundreds of thousands of people 'meet the requirements' to be one, good luck getting chosen  Quit. PM me if you play The Conduit to exchange friend codes. You certainly don't need to use the highest level of English you know. But Jagex wants people who can represent them. And every time moderators speak they act as ambassadors for them. Of course they're not going to "hire" hundreds of gangsta speaker player. So yes, while you don't need it, it can't hurt.
EarthySun
Certainly not. :P Some of the Mods I know don't speak English as a first language, but use it perfectly. I've found that people who are not native speakers have a better grammatical structure than people who are. So, basically Earthysun is Jesus's only son. green9090
I've found something as I've played. The people who will go around bragging about how they are fully qualified to be a moderator and complaining that they're never chosen will never, ever be chosen. They generally try too hard, and thus are not the kind of people who actually become moderators. It's also a concern that people who want so badly to be moderators will let the power go to their heads the instant they see that silver crown. If you look around, how many moderators act like wannabe mods? None. My advice is to forget about being a moderator and stop caring whether you are one or not. It doesn't really matter, and as long as you care so much, you'll never be chosen. Dr_Locust
My biggest advice, don't try too hard to become a mod. Just do what you're supposed to...you know what "modly behavior" is. Just do it and believe in karma. The_Fray
I dont see the point of trying to be a moderator. If your friends are not considering you an "equal" because they are mods and you are not, then they do not deserve to be mods in the first place. Power should only be given to those who are responsible enough to carry it and your friends certainly dont seem the type. Although this is probably just insecurity on your part, sorry but I really feel that Jagex should not give modship to players that really want it. I don't necessarily 'want' or 'need' it, I'm simply surprised that I'm not a Mod yet! O_o Call me shallow, but that is what I'm thinking right now. I enjoy the game, and I would enjoy the prospect of becoming a Moderator, but I spend my time in the game having fun, not working my [rear] off to become a Mod. Iamdan
While because of the sheer amount of people your chances are small, there isn't as much to it as everybody pretends to know there is. I know a number of people with a number of level 3-20 pmod accounts, who just used a colour clicker to auto report level 3-10's in default clothing around yew trees etc. Jagex doesn't look at the way you type, they don't have time for that. I don't see why you would want to be a player mod anyway. If your friends look down on you just because you aren't, they aren't worth talking to. And it generally isn't the sheer amount of reports that gets you to become a moderator. Being a player moderator in my mind, is extremely rewarding, but a tad time consuming. You don't "miss out" on anything in the game, but it doesn't make it any easier or harder. It's a lot more work than just reporting.
