fire making skill cape

Play around with Tip.It's skill planner. Willows are the cheaper option, but maples are considerably faster. Willows are running about 20 gold per log, while maples are 44-46 gold. If you figure out exactly how many more you need then you can choose the log type that fits your financial needs.

Actually, the cheapest is maples if you're an average player. In the time you save doing maples instead of willows you can make back three times the money you would have saved with willows.

Do maples, and ask yourself why you want to get 99 firemaking. If it's just for the cape, it's not worth it.

What else is 99 FM for?

Come to my Clan chat (I'm there if I'm online) if you wish to borrow a Green H'ween mask, Blue H'ween Mask, Red H'ween Mask, or Santa for a reasonable price.

You are able to light magic logs instantly instead of it taking longer for it to light.

As for calculating what you need for 99, I would use this calculator on Tip.it:

http://www.tip.it/runescape/?page=firemaking_calc.htm

I would round up.

After you have found the amount that you need, look at the current Grand Exchange price for all of the logs that you are able to light. Then, plan on what logs that you want to use. I would recommend Maples as it has a good balance of price and experience per hour.

i checked the prices and calculated everything and it turns out that willows for me where the best.

i know that maples are faster and everything but the willows got me 10 more lvls with the money i had. instead of being lvl 81 with maples i would be 91 with willows. and i settled on buying 66k willows and im buring them at fog

If you can earn more than 40k per hour maples are the better choice. You may look at my guide for exact calculations.

However, looking at your stats 99 FM wouldn't fit in there. I think you will cancel your goal before you reach half of it. So do other things, enjoy other skills, do some quests and make some money. When you reach some nice stats you can consider doing 99 FM but now it's just too early.

Looking at your stats, I don't think you should go for a 99, the chances are you will quit halfway through, maybe earlier, who knows. But I really doubt you'll be able to get 99. You should train up all your skills, and aim for high total level, not for 99's. Sorry for bursting your bubble, but you really shouldn't be so optimistic. I mean 64 -> 99 is just... :o :wall: :x  #-o

Why don't you just chop your own willows and burn them. This may be time consuming but you will also almost achieve 88wc.

Why don't you kill chickens till you have 99 att/def/str? It may be slow but you'll get over 5m feathers!

No, seriously. Teaks are faster than willows for woodcutting, and maples are better for firemaking.

Using the Tip.It Calculator, I worker out that you will need for 99:

o 93281 Maples or

o 139992 Willows

Do yourself a favour, save yourself about an extra 30,000 Logs, do Maples.

Oh, if you look in my signature there is a link to my Fire Making and Wood Cutting Guide. Maybe you should read it as it has some good spots to Fire Make in it.

My relaxation method involves a bottle of lotion, beautiful women, and partial nudity. Yes I get massages.

Like other have said, you're going to end up quitting half way through especially with Firemaking-boring. Just get all of your levels 40+,50+,60+,70+,75+,etc. It's more fun becuase you're not doing the same skill forever. :wall:. ;) .

Happy training,

Edit:If you're positively sure and committed 110% with getting 99 Firemaking. Here's some advice: Do the maples, trust me on this one.It may be more money but you get 200k+ xp an hour. Buying the maples is money well spent. \' \'

Its something like 2.8ish million if your buying willows from the exchange; and 4.3ish million buying maples. I use maples; because they're much quicker; but my best mate "A Log Burner" has used willows all the way to 200 million experience. Both have their different positives and negatives; just do some research to see which one fits you.

You may wanna buy the odd batch of yews in the 90 - 99 range; to ease up the boredom. Personally; I've used willows from 30 - 70 which I've cut myself; and will use maples onwards to 99. The choice is yours.

Hope this helps;
