I told my brother off today, he's watched all Lucky Star, and MoHS, and he's only 9. He says he likes them but I don't want him watching stuff like that really considering the links to Otakuism and all that jazz. I tried to get him to watch Naruto but he thinks it's too weird. :| I'm a bad influence on him I think.If you're not careful, he's going to end up like I am. No, that is not a good thing. D: 60 lovely chapters awaiting my eyes (40 actually, I'm on chapter 21). From the maker of Azumanga Daioh as well. Also yay, Taishou Yakyuu Musume is picking up. It usually follows remixy-funny sort of anime videos... copypasta: They use the game/anime to get material for their movies, modify each video frame, add handwriting animations, cut and slice the material and mix them with Japanese songs. MAD or MAD Movie is a Japanese word which means parody/remix video made from (usually) Japanese animation and songs. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MAD_Movie I love MADs, especially ones that are based on Sakuya's Flowering Night theme. Finished Shaukgan no Shana for now, rather liked the series though I could probably find 100 people who hated S2 and the whole thing in general. Watching Hayate no Gotoku and Shuffle...no idea why. I ended up watching it and Texholnoyze while my internet was down this weekend, and I'm glad I did. Lagann is so ridiculous and so over the top that it just works, and you can't help but feel for the characters. Plus, boota is awesome. Texholnoyze was pretty much incomprehensible in the first ep, but it starts to clear up after that. I'm glad I gave it a second chance because it honestly is an amazing piece of art -- something that leaves you thinking much longer after the last episode. It really heats up, and the setting is just so goddamned amazing. There really are moments in it that trump the beauty of even some scenes from Lain. So yeah, silver, you need to watch the rest of it. Also I should say that it doesn't shy on the action at all, even if it starts out slow. The nice thing is it starts out pretty slow like Lain does, and a lot of times you'll be left with a lot of questions. Even though I'm not sure if all my questions were answered right away it does a great job of making you think back to a previous episode and suddenly realizing something you didn't get before. Seriously though, it's a close one I think between Texholnoyze and Monster for me. Both are [bleep]ing brilliant anime for different reasons, and though I probably like Monster a bit more still it really is close. I'm probably done on anime for a little bit though, unless someone can somehow trump what I've watched. Just for reference: Baccano!, Serial Experiments Lain, Texholnoyze, Elfen Lied, Monster, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, and The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. Are what I have watched so far. Enjoyed all of them a ton except for Elfen Lied, which I thought was really forced at times. I just don't think I can top some of them :P. ps: If it helps I can understand a goddamn thing from like half of this thread. That's probably a good thing though.
