edit - I just realised this was for 10 films not 5 lol, edited accordingly.

If you choose your beliefs/lifestyle simply based on what your parents want, then you are a weak minded individual and are not even worthy of calling yourself a person.

Oh yeah, add ANTZ to my list. Favorite movie as a kid.

catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream

Schindler's list - Pretty much the first movie that really impressed me.

Cannibal holocaust - One of the talked movies ever. If you can see the meaning behind the violence, it gives a totally new level to the movie.

Full metal jacket - The best antiwar movie with an actual war scenes.

Donnie Darko - Weird, yet great. A perfect "what if" movie.

Repeat those few times and you get 10, more aren't needed.

Good Will Hunting

Hoosiers - if you're into sports movies

12 Monkeys

Killer Klowns from Outer Space - cult-ish horror B movie with a ridiculous plot

Oh, LP, you will drool over Guy Maddin his films. I know you are in love with stuff from the twenties. Well his movies are made in this decenium but look like they are made in that era. Normally when people do that it looks like a new movie who tries to look like an old movie, but his movies really look like they were shot back in the day.

You should try the Saddest music in the world and Brand upon the brain. The latter just got released on Criterion.

Believe me, you'll love it.
