XxTearGodxX
Well, I went to my grandmas house, she lives in hazlet NJ it was pretty darn hot over there & stupidly I forgot to wear sunblock before I jumped into the pool. I was in the pool for 5-6 hours with a few 10-15 minute breaks to eat & for bathroom. Now I'm paying for it cause I can barely lift my arms & got these nasty well sorta cool looking blisters. So kids always wear sunblock or you'll be like me 8) Looks like I'm turning into the thing from the fantastic four lolz Burn 1 Burn

Dark_Tigra
I never wear sunscreen, and I've got a very nice tan :| I guess each person reacts differently! Me too. My friend and I spent 6 hours is the sun in South Carolina, and he got second degree burns (blistering, etc) and I just got red..then tan. He remained white. I'm kind of worried now though, I haven't gotten a lot of sun this past year and I'm rather white-looking, so I hope the sun doesn't burn me much, I was always naturally tanner than most. Phil
Ouch, I remember getting burn like that (maybe not that bad) on holiday in 2002. Never good :x I tan if I wear suntan lotion but will burn if I go in the pool with none on :? The water in the pool just magnifies the sun, I think, so makes it a lot worse. How2PK
Heh, I was pretty burned the first day in Turkey, had sun-cream on, but was in the sea for about 5/6 hours, since it was around 45 degrees in celcius. :) But I wasn't that burned, lol. Mayjest
I had that last summer. I was on a trip in Thailand with World Challenge (an adventure type holiday type thing). Because we were travelling in Malaria areas, we were taking anti-malarial pills. The one I was taking was Doxycycline. A side effect of that is that your skin is more sensitive to the sun. and I was a dumnass and did the same as you. My entire neck and shoulders, raw like a lobster. I got blisters the size of my palm when they started peeling as well. Excruciatingly painful. Goals to get my skills back up to a barely respectable level on the high scores: Currently going for Bone to Peaches spell. It's amazing how boring doing the same repetitive task is! BlueLancer
99 percent of skin diease occurs on white 1percent is on asian blk people never get skin diease lol wheres your source for this data? ever heard of something called vitiligo? True, but only about 1-2% of people will be ever affected by vitiligo. Black people have a different type of skin which necessarily does not produce any melanocytes in reaction to excessive sunlight, as opposed to white people who will be affected even by 10 minutes of sunlight because their skin type is different, it absorbs every ray of sunlight. So in this situation white people are at a disadvantage when going to a beach for the first time etc. Also, vitiligo is not a sun related disease. It happens because of a misfunction in your body where your immune system accidently attacks your own cells, thus destroying the colored cells and making whole areas of your body milk-white. It could happen to you no matter where you live, be it the North pole or Turkey. I don't really have a problem with the sun because I'm always in a place where it shines on me and I have a nice tan, but my face (and especially forehead) react really annoingly. It turns red for at least 2 days before upgrading to 'tan' if I'm out for more than 3 to 4 hours. It's just too damn irritating. But I guess we all have our problems when it comes to this 8)

Peter
I don't burn, don't really know why. Last time I was really burned (and when I say really burned I mean I was just lightly sunburned all over as opposed to just the neck or shoulders) was when I was in Colombia about five years ago being at the beach for three days strait, six hours each day. Even if you don't burn though, it's not a reason you shouldn't wear sunscreen. Just because the signs aren't there doesn't mean you won't get skin cancer. They say to wear about a shot glass full of sunscreen on your body and to put it on daily rather than just when you're in the sun. They make special sunscreeen for your face that doesn't effect the pores.
