Why bother?

Let's get this straight, your complaining because JAGeX is giving you a bigger area to Player Kill?

My relaxation method involves a bottle of lotion, beautiful women, and partial nudity. Yes I get massages.

tbh in these new pking worlds jagex will probably take out alot, i mean there would be no point in putting in cwars etc in those worlds so prrolly will take it out and add a nice battle ground or summat. highly doubt they will leave every quest building etc in. Waste

why? I agree "safe" minigames are a waste: but I for one would love to quest in a more dangerous environment!

First they came to fishing

and I didn't speak out because I wasn't fishing

Then they came to the yews

and I didn't speak out because I didn't cut yews

Then they came for the ores

and I didn't speak out because I didn't collect ores

Then they came for me

and there was no one left to speak out for me.

It would be easier to just leave things as they are. Removing Castle Wars, BH, etc. as well as all the quest buildings would take a lot of unnecessary effort.

And what will they put there...

I think an easier method would just be to disable them.

Make people unable to enter castlewars, BH, clanwars, etc. Make it so people cant start any quest or continue it. Im sure they have a centralized system for questing so it can be that hard. With minigames? Its only a few and its just a few lines of coding to disable a minigame.

Why do they have to though? BH would be unavailable anyway, people might try their hand at doing a quest in a PvP world for the challenge, castlewars and clanwars would be really interesting if you could lose your items...

It wouldn't take that much effort to just make some minigames pvp as well!

I personally think that they should have thoguht of this idea sooner, and implemented it when they removed the old wildy. That way pkers wouldn't complain of lack of PvP and Skillers wouldn't complain at a loss of a market. But this is a very large update, and it takes time to implement these things so I think it is going to be exactly what Runescape needs to either boost it back to what it used to be, or, do one better, and increase its user-base to greater levels than before.

I see. I'm some what coming onto the idea now...But do you guys think that the old PKing areas will still be used, such as Edgeville and north Varrock?

I doubt it, I'm pretty sure the majority of the pking will be next to the border near the safe zones so they can run out quickly.

I agree, they should have done this much earlier instead of making BH, then there won't have been that much of a problem with PKers, and stalling economies.

Hi,

I really don't see why Jagex bothered to make the whole (well...99%) of the Runescape map PK area...What's the point?

Ever since 2005 people have been asking for this, and probably before. I would love this, and it's coming. Majority of pkers would also love this, why? More area to pk. And since it'll only be 5-10 worlds, with level ranges, there won't be that lack of players to fight, as it'll condense everyone, which will be a blast. Well for F2P. =P

I think it would be far better with just the old wilderness. All the old common pking areas would be available, there wouldn't be unbelievable amounts of obstacles to overpower range and mage and it would be basically old PKing. In a way, Jagex are making it harder for themselves to prevent RWT.

Those old pking areas will be here, as well as new ones. Overpowering range/mage? Uhm, not really. How? You won't be able to RWT in them.

Is this just a bad attempt at luring all the old pkers that quit back in?

My strongest idea is that this is an attempt to get all that money that isn't there anymore. Honestly, 60M was lost at least from all the pkers quitting, from stats Jagex posted. They are probably wanting that money back so they can keep the ends meeting, and buy new things...etc. Thus this update.

I don't see why it's necessary to disable BH or Clan/Castle Wars, or even quests... if people want to do those things in pvp worlds fine.

CW and all the other PvP Minigames will still be available in every normal world.

They already are making Clan wars like that...

If you look at the August behind the scenes you can see in the picture that they have that you can set a option where you can loose items.

Just felt like pointing that out ;)
