All your youtube videos can look like this with a simple modification to the url!

 

This even works excellent on audio! Most tracks are much more clear!

 

 

 

Simply add

 

&fmt=18

 

To any youtube url!

into

 

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=idBosqQHQkg&fmt=18

 

 

 

Reason behind?

 

I heard it has to do with apple and the iphone, some agreement that lets the iphone view higher quality videos because of formats or something.

Heh, just tried this. It does work, the quality is about 100% better than the originals I got saved. (On a very rare occassion it will display the vid title as "beijing 2008" or something weird though)

I don't think that would be needed, since the &fmt=18 is part of the code anyway, you could just leave it in.

 

 

 

For example:

Though this is all very cool, I very rarely use Youtube for anything. And if I do, the comments (and probably the video) make me RAGE anyway. Most things I like to view on YT though are ripped from Nico, so id probably just watch it on that.

nico is fun, but sometimes the WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW over the top of every video gets annoying, and turning it off, well then you might as well watch it on youtube, because its faster most of the time.

 

I'd have to agree, Youtube comments are the lowest of the lowest of the low. Its a wonder half of them even get posted before the guy hammering his head off the keyboard dies from incurable [developmentally delayed] disease.

Speaking of high def I wish another decent Stage 6 player (that is well known) would crop up. Watching videos in youtube suck, stage 6 was great for game videos and whatever else needs to be in a higher quality to tell what is going on :P.

vimeo used to be great for HD game videos, but I'm not sure about their standpoint atm. The SA "lets play!" forum abused the hell out of their system, they got in a strop and said they'd ban all gaming videos, but I'm not sure if they went through with that.

 

That said I've watched a ton of WAR videos on there recently.

But the "cho- wwwww" and "sugeee wwwwww" make it all so worthwhile. And the average nico user has atleast twice the IQ of their YT counterpart.
