There are always haters out there and their hatred does not apply to only one skill. They hate the fact that you possess the motivation, determination, and plethora of patience that they lack. I've seen the scene repeat over and over again when anyone publically announces that they are on the journey to a 99 for any skill. They don't understand how someone could like a skill they so greatly dislike, and are spurred on by the majority of RuneScape also disliking the skill. upthebanner Posted September 4, 2008 Share Posted September 4, 2008 Mining in f2p was my first 99. Was it hard? It took 1 year and 3 months of playing but no not really. There are numerous ways you can choose to mine with multiple locations all of which mean you train i na different way. The other point is that it helps train crafting (gems and gold and silver), smithing and mage (superheat and high alchemy). The other point is that high level miners also tend to be a little more polite and mature than the average woodcutter etc. JAGeX though do need to bring back a 3 rock mine and drop point as was in Al Kharid. Though there are now more efficient ways of making cash like runecrafting x2 nats, but mining rune is still awesome. One of my old buddies made like millions off it in days. I saw her like days after the last time I did and she was in like full dragon(when it was like 50m). Well I did know there are a lot of no good flamers that flame for anything but most people I ever tell that I'm getting 99 mining say stuff like "cool" "good luck :)" "wow!" "what's your level now?" "how long have you been doing it so far?" mainly they're in "awe" or just curious -maybe you've just had a bad experience? Anyway I think the haters are essentially jealous on some level; mining is (perceived as being) a skill that takes a relatively long time to achieve 99 in, so to make up for your announcement of your lofty goals they try to give you the impression that they're somehow spending their time on the internet better than you are.
