  1. Hellhounds and greaters can now be found in the f2p wilderness.
  2. I remember you guys. Good clan from back in the day, nice to see you back.
  3. What do you think of when you see the following (former) clans' initials? Sorry in advance if any of the following clans' initials coincide with those of any current clan(s); no flames are intended so I have to ask each Poster from refraining in engaging in such. Still be honest though. Di - DS - A (yep just "A" etc.) - @ - RD - P - RSF - RR - CF - TDS - EH - MGMT (just kidding, but: the band, love or hate?) - B - SE - ST - LF - 3x Feel free to add your own (after the rest of the template); if enough common ones are written-in I will include it up here and maybe this will be a sort of mini-quasi-clan history thread. :D
  4. It's always a shame to see a clan with such a great history close. I had some good friends in that clan over the years and I wish all of RR's ex-members the best in their future clanning endeavors. Is there any one clan that a lot of the ex-members are moving to? edit: Hi DW member up there ^^
  5. Congratulations@@@@ I believe we have met before.
  6. Small late night (American/EST late night, that is) miniwars - affectionately known as "late night 5 vs 5's" by some - are a dying species. However, I've got good news. With your small, nominal donation of a visit to #takeover on SwiftIRC (other contact info listed below), YOU can help save late night miniwars! These fights are a noble, majestic breed; they are surprisingly fun and good if you're not doing anything else (as if you are at 4 am EST). Please, save the late night 5 vs 5's! Here are the scientific details of the small late night miniwars we are searching for: Kingdom: Clans Phylum: Combat Class: Clan-vs.-clan Order: Miniwar Family: Matched Options Genus: PVP world (c'mon, CWA isn't worth it with 5 people) Species: Andrew Grower That is a pretty good summary of what we are looking for. Remember, you only need 5 people to fight in these wars and make a difference! TOGETHER we can save the late night miniwars! IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN A LARGER MATCHED OPTS MINI, YOU MAY CONTACT US ABOUT THAT TOO! Here is our memberlist: http://www.runehead.com/clans/ml.php?clan=teamtakeover We are a team, not a clan, but we comply to all the usual honor codes and promise a good fight. Here is some contact information: #takeover / http://z8.invisionfree.com/Team_Takeover You may /query Elit9, The_Slayer15, Noble_Inc, or Ninane on IRC. One of us will usually be around.
  7. I rarely did in the old wild unless we were clearly ahead and the war/pkri was essentially decided. A couple of months ago I was fighting in a pkri and we were winning by a safe margin, so I began to loot ... I got up to like 4 sets but alas, I wound up being the last kill of the fight.
  8. People have told me that it's not 30 minutes of real time but rather 30 minutes of actual combat, in the same manner of barrows armor or druid robes. Most wars don't even last 30 minutes total, though, so a single corrupt dragon item should be able to last an entire fight even if it does degrade in 30 minutes of real time.
  9. GL Breakout, I hope you succeed in "breaking out" #-o from the shadow of BSK!
  10. Clans who enjoyed pking in the old wild/old BH, maybe especially those who lack the ability to fight in 6+ hour run-ins (ouch), are the big winners here. They've finally got that aspect of the game back after a hiatus of several months, and although it's not as good as what was in Runescape only a year ago, it's still better than the nothingness that had been present since BH became single-only. I know it's made a lot of my clanning friends happy. :)
  11. I think they'll be allowed in wars, but this may depend on just how difficult to obtain they are. If corrupt dragon trading on the GE is highly illiquid due to few pvp drops, I think people will start to ban them from wars due to a purported "unfair advantage", much like we've seen with infinite run. I personally couldn't get a corrupt drag item from the GE in time for MSSW4, but that may have been due to the fact these items are still brand new - only time will tell the full story, I suppose. 400 posts
  12. That was kinda disappointing, where were all the other fansites? All the backstabbing and total lack of organization was to be expected but tip.it outnumbering everyone else combined by a huge ratio? We won though so =D>
  13. they really only have 5,3,2,3,1? Apparently Pure community has a lot more but their already waiting up at the ruined castle, Not sure if thats true or not I just looked on my pure, and no one's there.
  14. We're not going to be able to fit a third of our people because everyone is still gawking over the new worlds, great. Agreed. and on our way we'd probably run across a bunch of people going "0mg n00bs in steal!!! Must kill 4 l00t!!!" and have half of our people dead before we get there. Clan wars was fine, I don't see why we have to change. -.- Ugh now that you've said that, it reminds me: the threshold for having a chance at getting "better" loot on f2p worlds is 25k, and everyone at MSSW4 will be carrying more than that (largely due to the rune weapons). So if I understand everything correctly then this means that if crashers do show up, they'll have a ton of incentive to kill us since they'll be eligible for the maximum reward for doing so - it says on the website that the "chances" of getting a good drop are the same for all values above 25k (on f2p). In other words, they'll have the chance to be rewarded as if they killed a person in, say, full rune, except they'll be picking people off in steel. So to summarize: less people are going to get to participate, and crashers have a great incentive to show up. Don't get me wrong, I'm still looking forward to this immensely but :wall:, just :wall:.
  15. Most of them probably don't understand it; you would've had to have read a book to understand what a book is, I presume. I don't think that "pure" names are inherently bad; it's just that they are SO overused and cliched that many have simply become annoying. The people who can actually make good (emphasis on good) pure names should be the most upset about this, because so many others have tarnished their creativity with these generic rsn's containing 9 different numbers that are supposed to be letters + "pk" or "bh" or some variant at the end. (I'm not referring to anyone in particular, just going with whatever's off the top of my head.) Imitation is the greatest form of flattery, though, so who knows.
  16. I'm quite certain that the time is accurate for most places. The converter probably just jacked up the international date line somehow since it's off by exactly 24 hrs; isn't NZ pretty close to it? I think that's the root of the problem.
  17. W62 is going to have a ton of people on it solely due to its being a pvp world, so effectively less people are going to be able to participate in this. :| Considering that I can't really agree with the decision to move it to a pvp world but w/e.
  18. I think that even if the world does plunge into an absolutely huge recession, Jagex will fare better than most other companies out there in the world. I'm pretty certain Jagex has no debt at all and large amounts of cash to boot, so frozen credit markets won't impact the supply side too much. I don't think we will see anything major unless things get so bad that a) TONS of people have to cancel p2p, and B) f2p ad revenue drops due to advertisers being unable to pay higher rates. Adding on to what Sumpta13 said: if we get to a point where even a company like Jagex is getting hammered, I think we'll all have much more important things than RS to worry about. :ohnoes:
  19. All you need to do is get on RS in time and show up at our massing spot, ready to win, with a nice green cape (people will probably have extra supplies if you don't have your own). As others have said, though, the world is going to be full way before the war even begins - 90 minutes beforehand has been the suggested time to log in if you really want to make sure you get a spot.
  20. "Bound" is the grammatically correct form; technically the word "bound" in the phrase "he is bound" would be an adjective since it is describing the state of being bound, but the predicate phrase ("is bound") which it is part of is a verb. It is the past participle, I think. So yeah regardless of the context, the normal form is "bound" and there is no reason to deviate from that; the only situation I can recall where you'd have an actual difference is "hanged" and "hung", but that exists only because the older term "hanged" has been preserved in legal language. We haven't been around long enough and we aren't important enough to make "binded" into an actual word. :P
  21. It should be $20 for 90 days. I hate when companies don't offer deals for bulk purchases. Stupid Jagex. Good thing I'm not renewing my membership when it goes out. They did. If you bought three 30 day cards, then you'd be around $24, you save around $1.50 with the 90 day card :geek: With the cost of shipping out those cards and the price of the actual card, they'd need to put an increase in price to avoid losing too much money. It's just an extra method of payment, for those not as fortunate to have access to a credit card or phone. +1, also another reason that it is $22.50 and not some arbitrary lower price is because they know that they can get that much - ie. there is ample demand at $22.50 so why charge less for the same product? I'm trusting that Jagex's department which deals with stuff like this is competent; I think this is a safe assumption. To be honest people are lucky that these cards aren't going for even more money, since clearly this is aimed at people in the U.S. who don't have access to cheaper methods of payment such as credit cards, Paypal, etc. With that considered, Jagex can charge a considerable premium due to the fact that hypothetical buyers don't have any other means of getting p2p (interestingly enough, though, you could just buy a Visa gift card in virtually the same manner you'd buy this RS card, and pay only $6 a month). If anyone here has taken a basic econ course, just remember markup = inverse of elasticity. That is what is at work here. :) An earlier poster brought up the fact that people with running credit card balances would potentially have to pay more than $6 for members because of the interest rate; that got me thinking whether the current state of the economy had anything to do with this alternative to credit being introduced. It's a possibility, although I'd assume Jagex has had these cards planned for a while now anyway.
  22. Well my vision has progressively gotten worse over the past ~5 years so I'd have to say probably, yeah. I guess general computer use could be a cause. Like someone said earlier in the topic, though, everything is bad for you these days, lol. Diet soda gives you cancer, so what's a little vision loss?
