Eh, bandit crashers are annoying but I can't see this gaining any traction because we already know that a "fix" is coming: when pvp worlds come out, I'm pretty you'll find spots open on those worlds. And you won't really be able to afk too well, either. ;)

That sucks. :wall: It's not like that guy gained anything from not helping you out, but I guess some people are just jerks. I know it's not like he had to bless it, but usually people are at least nice enough to be good samaritans when there is no direct cost to them (other than what, 3 seconds of his precious 'scaping time?).

Personally I believe both are important, but I think the prevailing school of thought in the clan community has been, for the last several years, to pretty much unquestionably value pkri's over wars in spite of the fact they test different aspects of clans. After months of only being able to war, though, I think some clans may have warmed up to the idea of wars being a legit way of ranking clans; overall, I believe pkri's will still be valued more highly when "most" people sit down and formulate their opinions on other clans.

This is pretty much my view as well; the kicker would be whether a certain near-family (or as close as you can get on the internet) atmosphere develops in the core group of veteran members. If you're in a nice stable clan, have got those qualities, and are just enjoying the ride, I think that's all you need.

I don't see anything wrong with it, if the opposing clan can pick up easy kills this way then more power to them. It's not like those people aren't going to be killed off eventually, anyway. It's not surprising that the people who get picked off this way choose to complain about it rather than develop a viable solution, though. I've only been to the arena once after the updates, but there's like a non-"wilderness" (for lack of a better term) area at the baseline where you can move around without being attacked, no? Maybe those people should figure out a way to get past their camping assailants to join the battle, instead of waging war on the forums.

Kinda sad that they run in spite of the fact they aren't going to lose anything, lol. Don't worry, you can still extract your revenge when the all-pvp worlds come out. 8-)

In most of the clans I have been in, it's been tolerated as long as it isn't racist/slurs/extremely rampant, which I think is reasonable. In one of my certain past clans, though, the entire concept of "pretend" racism eventually got out of hand and caused a conflict between those who have decency/common sense and those who don't. The important thing is to define a clear line in order to make sure situations like that are less likely to occur in the first place.

I see there is already a topic discussing the actual release of the clan wars updates, but if it's all right I'd like to make one to discuss some basics/specific points about the updates. I don't play anymore so I'm curious to know about some of the finer details, and also I thought this might facilitate some nice discussion. So... [b]Do you prefer the safe or dangerous option? And, what exactly is the reward to walking around in the dangerous FFA zone with expensive armor?[/b] [b]What rules do you set for your planned fights? Well, the lack of trees will make things interesting once pvp worlds come out - you can have lots of trees all to yourself, but you'll have to defend them! :thumbsup:

I didn't really ever know people said this kind of stuff about getting 99 mining maybe I've been living under a rock? :-k. Pun intended? I lol'd. Anyway I think the haters are essentially jealous on some level; mining is (perceived as being) a skill that takes a relatively long time to achieve 99 in, so to make up for your announcement of your lofty goals they try to give you the impression that they're somehow spending their time on the internet better than you are. Personally I still think mining is one of the most respectable 99's due to the arduous nature of all that clicking. :shock:

There was fallout from the anti-RWT measures, yes, but things have more or less remained steady (according to the graphs) from mid-January to mid-June (when most 'scapers are in school). If the page visits & everything were continuing to absolutely tank during that time then yes, I'd have to agree with you. However, things have pretty much stabilized over the last few months and things aren't going to get worse from this point on (aside from the natural effects of people returning to school). In other words, RS has kinda stagnated, maybe, but it certainly doesn't look to be on its death bed and all of the damage has already been done. Growth will resume when the game is bailed out by the next generation of players who'll have no knowledge of the original wilderness anyway AND by the release of the new pking worlds; Runescape will, by the end of the 08-09 winter vacation, surge past the levels it was at prior to the December 07 updates (assuming pking worlds are here by then). I'm sorry but I'm going to have to ask you to exit the internet.

I wouldn't worry about it so much. Those people are just pretending to be racists on the internet because they are white kids oppressed by other white kids irl.

tbh I don't really like any of them - "legion" is trite and overused, and "Crystal Glory" just doesn't roll off the tongue that nicely. With that said, if you're deciding on a name for your clan, just be creative and go with something that you like!

Wait WHAT!? PK-anywhere worlds? This was the stuff of legend even when the wilderness was around. I might have to un-retire just to see this! :shock:
