Am I really going to get in trouble? (Internet Harassment)

I decided to mess with Alienware's techs cause I was bored and they told me that, not sure if it's a scare tactic or if they are serious but uh can I get in trouble for that?

Umar K.: Hi, my name is Umar K.. How may I help you?

Amanda: Hi, asl

Umar K.: Hello Amanda, how may I help you today?

I'm ok with Tech Support lines. But 911 and Suicide lines are different. One's a crime and the other is just horrible to prank.

But, it's a scare tactic. Don't worry.

I had a piece of grass on my shoe, and she wiped that off. Yeah. Impressive, eh? That's probably the closest I've ever been to having sex. :P

I suppose this happens a lot, don't worry. But just in case, I would advice you to stop abusing this service. In addition, can you imagine anyone who really wants to has a job that consists of answering questions from people who are mad at your company? Can you imagine any of those workers looking forward to going to work? Close to everyone having this job has it because no other jobs were available. They are having a crappy job for your pleasure! Leave the proletarians alone!

Unless you send countless spam messages in the chat, nothing will happen. You can go to any chat for any help, and just waste their time, nothing will happen. Majority of the time a lot of people like to play along as a break form actually working.

But then again that jail cell is getting empty...

You're going to jail. Have fun.

Remember not to pick up the soap! :twss:

I don't think you'll get in too much trouble. I mean, at the most you'll probably get a notice from your ISP as they stated. It's not too serious.. It's not like you threatened to blow up their servers with C4s or anything.

Good luck, prank callers don't do well in prison :ohnoes:

On a more serious note, how were you harassing anyway? I don't get it. What's asl? And were you reported because you just wanted to chat?

tip it would pay me $500.00 to keep my clothes ON :(
But then again, you fail to realize that 101% of the people in this universe hate you. Yes, humankind's hatred against you goes beyond mathematical possibilities.

Don't drop the soap... (unless you like that sort of thing.)

OT: I don't think any legal action could result from it. They have the right to refuse to service you but I bet they were just trying to scare you so they could move onto the next person. It being forwarded into the local homeland security sounds just like if someone was planing a terrorist plot over the phone.

Throwing it over your left shoulder is a much better idea. It's supposed to be good luck, and you might blind Bubba as he stalks his prey.

Well now that I understand it better..

I really think you shouldn't have done that in the first place. If your going to mess with anyone on the phone, mess with your friends or phone sex hotlines. But tech support has a pretty important job and doesn't need bored people logging on for the hell of it.

As for punishment, you won't get very much. at the very most, a letter from your ISP. But the department of homeland security and the FBI have more important things to worry about that prank callers. Unless it's an important government building or something...
