Princess Viola
But atari Suuuuuccckkksssss :( No, they don't if you want my opinion, Intelevision sucks. (Also, what are you, 11) Seriously, Atari basically started video gaming. C'mon, I think the first popular game was Pong by Atari. Also, Mr_Putter, the Famicom and NES are the same console, look it up, common knowledge, I have one, actually two, a USA and a Japan one.
Da Pirates
But I suppose ill say Sony. I shat bricks when I read that. You were the last person I expected to favor Sony over Nintendo. Same? Similar, perhaps, but Famicom implies one thing and NES implies another.
OldJoe
If i have to choose today, i'd get a PS3 mainly because it has games that i like. (i'm not much for Mario Kart racing and such) I'd choose Sega anytime tho. I've always liked them and they create/d good games/consoles. aquariusman
seriously nintendo could put crap in a video game case and sell it, well i guess microsoft already did that with halo 3 but moving on. admit it you microsoft fanboys only latched onto master chief because you wanted a god/mascot like character, in seven years i will laugh alongside mario and ask you where is your god now! I hate to be back at it with you, since I've realized you actually know your stuff as far as facts go, but as far as opinions go, you are completely anti-Microsoft. On the first point, about Nintendo putting crap in a video game case and selling it, I personally think that they already do and have done that. For instance, the Wiimote. A very good idea, but improperly implemented. It is just way too inconsistent to make it worth my time for buying the Wii. I can have stunningly accurate responses one moment, and then the next the damn thing won't even respond. And this is with two different placements on the sensor. I'm also fairly certain that they've milked the Mario and Pokemon series to crap. The Pokemon series is wonderful because of the strategy, but you may as well just release packs of Pokemon instead of entire new games. Seriously, I don't think any of the people who play Pokemon seriously even like the story part of it, they just play it because they like the strategy aspect. Then there's Mario, that wonderful series, whose games will always be bought. I can't think of a Mario game and think of fun, unless I've actually heard about it. And Microsoft can put crap in a case and sell it like ten dollar bills for a dollar - see Vista - but that doesn't mean that their games are good. I would leave you to your opinion of Halo, but you do realize Halo will probably still exist, even if new games involved in the Halo Universe weren't being released? C'mon, MLG will definitely be around, and a know a few people that still play Halo:CE on their computer. Thousands still play Halo 2, and millions play Halo 3 now. Also, it's funny how you said in 7 years. Even just that makes me think that Halo will still be around then. But of course you won't get that joke/reference, because you have no clue about Halo and Bungie. I'd also say that Mario only exists today because Nintendo refuses to put the franchise to rest. They've milked it dry, as far as I can tell. There are some amazing games in the franchise, probably some of the best games there are, but most of them were earlier on in the series. The Chief isn't the God of Microsoft, there is none. He is just a symbol. Much like Mario and Zelda are ones for Nintendo, and Cloud and Solid Snake are for PSX. I think I said this in the argument we had earlier, the only reason I chose the Xbox 360 over any of the other consoles was because of Xbox Live. Each console is even, except for the fact that most of my friends have an Xbox 360 with Xbox Live. I am personally more of a fan of Nintendo for their past work, however I don't really like the Wii. Here's how I break down the three consoles. The Nintendo Wii is a console with great games, but the controls are sub standard, and developers can't do much with the console in terms of graphics and game's engines compared to the PS3 or 360, and this makes the console average. Online being free makes it just above average. The Xbox 360 has average games as far as I'm concerned, and I consider the controller very good. Online is very good, and makes the console just above average because you pay for online. Then there's the PS3. Developers can do a ton of stuff with this console. They can probably do so much that another PSX console will be released before the PS3's full potential is realized. The controller is featherlight and runs on an internal rechargeable battery. By far the best controller I've used, except for the thumb stick layout, which I hate at the moment. Online is decent, and free. If you go by these aspects, then the PS3 is way ahead of the competition. The only problem is that the kinds of games the PS3 has doesn't really match what I like to play. I'm not too much of a fan of RPG's, or games with massive cut scenes, or racing games. This puts the console again, just above the average of what I'd have expected from this generation of consoles. Then there's friends. One of my friends have a PS3. Three have a Wii. Over twenty have an Xbox 360. I think this is a good reason for me to choose the 360. Not because I'm a fan of Microsoft, or Bungie, or Halo, but because nearly all of my friends have one (Of those 4 friends who own a different console, 3 own a 360 as well), and that lets me play with them, without the need to go to their house (Although playing split screen is much more enjoyable for me) and get used to a different controller. Right now actually, I want a PS3. I can see a lot of my friends getting one if they had the chance, I would take that chance if they did too. I like being able to play with my friends. That's the entire reason I buy a console, to PLAY. I am a fan of Nintendo, own a Xbox 360, want a PS3, love Halo, and think that is perfectly reasonable. I love how I can build a wall of text from 5 lines. There's no such thing as regret. A regret means you are unhappy with the person you are now,and if you're unhappy with the person you are, you change yourself. Thatregret will no longer be a regret, because it will help to form the new, better you. So really, a regret isn't a regret. It's experience. sycosis5
I, personally, like Nintendo a little more, because it started video games. Uh, no, it really didn't. alright, besides pong. What i meant was, it started making them available as household objects. Not really. Only thing NES did was save consoles from the gaming crash of '85 (or whatever, I forgot the date). I don't think consoles really became household objects until Nintendo and SEGA started competing. Lemme rephrase it ONE more time. One of my many reasons is because Nintendo pretty much started up gaming for many many people. What if they had no good games after that? Sony, Nintendo suck now. Yes_Its_Ross
I don't understand why so many people flame each other for likeing different systems. Reminds me of the saying "Different strokes for different folks." Pick a system you like and play it. Don't try to convert people to play the ones you like. ]
RichieMcD
The only competition I'd even consider between both is in the handheld sector of gaming, on normal console versions Playstations have always been superior to any Nintendo product as far as I'm concerned. IMO the games available for the PS consoles have always been far superior to any Nintendo game, Nintendo started off the gaming industry but Sony / Microsoft competed it. If anything nowadays I would consider there being more competition / rivalry between Microsoft and Sony than either with Nintendo.
