the new legend of zelda

Featured Replies

we know that the legend of zelda will never be the same as stated by nintendo but i think they will go the rpg route with zelda

you still have the saving princess part but this time there will be life after saving the princess in which you could choose to do one of many things:

rule alongside princess zelda and command hyrule (see final fantasy my life as a king for how this would play out) but you would also get to go and do your own adventuring also

Become captain of the hyrule army and work your way through the ranks and then become king

Live a simple life in the forest during sidequests and such

down-loadable content- this will add alot of meat to the after story of link

Basically they would give us a never ending zelda game to finally end the series. With all of the stuff i mentioned it would take completists a very long time to finish the game (think oblivion) if they manage to complete it all (if nintendo adds dlc)

...What are you talking about?

catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream

It's not that difficult to comprehend. Some full stops and caps would be nice, but it's completely readable.

Zelda as an RPG would never work. It's like that Castlevania fighting game, it might be good in its own right but the name won't fit.

Firstly, if they EVER take the RPG route millions of fans will go into an uproar, and the series [might] die. I mean, it just doesn't fit Zelda.

The command Hyrule thing would be an absolute horror. Link isn't a ruler, he's a warrior.

The army thing would be cool, but...It's just wierd to me, I don't know why...

Downloadable content? Thats hard to do for a game like Zelda...

And, Nintendo stated it would be DIFFERENT, which could mean many things: Complete motion controls, follow the twilight story forever (which would be stupid), be following the Wind Waker for a while. Doesn't mean that it will be all out Spartan warfare in the game. Besides, keeping the tradition is what Nintendo does. So, I don't really agree with these...Premonitions?

Hoping to get a new Signature (with matching avatar) soon. :D

In the meantime...Steam username: )I'll rewrite it later (add me if you want)

They already did with Zelda 2 for the NES :D.

a change in the zelda series wouldn't sound THAT bad. i wouldn't go so far as to say that zelda would not fit as an rpg. this would mean that link would have more variety of weapons instead of picking the master sword out of the pedestal crap. it would be more accessible to side quests and maybe it can still maintain the storyline without damaging it's reputation.

It wasn't that it wasn't readable, but I just didn't get it. Still kinda don't. There's gonna be a legend of zelda role player?

I am aware of that lol. I didn't enjoy it though... :P

True, I myself wouldn't mind an RPG version [kinda], but a couple of my friends said they'd go berserk if they did that, hehe. It would be a nice twist, but you know, I think I'd prefer Zelda's runaround combat. I think Ninty thinks that too, because they didn't stick with Zelda 2's system either...

Speculating over future games that nothing has been released about could be fun, but pointless. I will enjoy the next LoZ game when it comes out and will learn to enjoy the changes Nintendo decides to make on this next game. Also ONE GAME doesn't change a series!!! So if they screw up on this one, don't expect the series to die! LoZ is foreva

I just hope it is a lot harder than Twilight Princess was. I got through that game fast, not that 20 hours is fast, but I didn't get held up on anything really. Except that top boss guy, where you were spinning around the tower. That boss was hard for me.

I agree, it was just way too easy. They got a lot of critique for that so I'm betting the next one will be harder

But about Zelda turning into an MMORPG or whatever? That sounds a bit far fetched to me.

[insert birds flying in a circle here]

Yes, that sig was annoying.

That boss is easy  . Just climb up the towers and Z target the tail when he faces you, put iron boots. X2.

Climb up the towers, and z target, a, z target, a, z target etc.

Only time i was close to dying by 0 health was when you still had 3 hearts.. kinda lame, they do like minimal damage. it's possible to complete everything with 3 hearts with relative ease.

Gods I hope they don't

Zelda needs to remain as dungeon -> new item/mechanic -> use item/mechanic -> kill boss -> repeat

Its simple, it works, and its fun, the day I need to wonder whether to level up my strength to use my +44 deku hammer or speed to goron roll technique faster is the day the zelda franchise dies.

I dont care if they take a step towards Rpg, afterall it's only one step back to the zelda we know and love.

Why change something that's not broken. TP wasn't that easy. I mean Goron Mines was a headache.

Lakebed Temple also was sort of annoying, but that's what makes Legend of Zelda  . The relief you get when you finally figure it out.

Lol... You could walk through the temples without even thinking, the puzzles are soo obvious it's not fun. i only got stuck once in lakebed, cause i missed a ladder.

I loved TP. It was pretty easy but I thought it was fun with awsome graphics.

i hated TP, traded my game and wii in with me having saved the game standing at the entrance to the 7th dungeon. i just couldn't tolerate it. without that my wii wouldn't have gotten any use ( :twss: ) so i traded that too.
