Rise Against has a new album coming out the day after tomorrow and since they are one of my all-time favorite bands, I was wondering if anyone listens to them and plans on getting this album.

I don't like them after Prayer of A Refugee, really. They got too political and that just sucked up their music, trying to get out a message. I did like them before that, though.

How I came into a copy of it will remain unkown, BUT OH MY GOD, it's such an amazing album. They're touring with Anti-Flag in the UK soon so that'll be awesome.

Rise Against is pretty good. I've enjoyed their songs lately and can't wait for their new CD. I kinda stopped listening to them after hearing that they agree with a lot of PETA's views though.

I'm buying it that morning on iTunes so I can listen to it during school. I'm excited. A lot.

I've only heard Prayer of the Refugee and I absolutely hated it. The singer has a very annoying voice.

Especially Siren Songs of the Counter Culture, it's my favorite album. (But judging by Re-Education (Through Labor) I think Appeal to Reason will be my favorite)

No, I don't as I only know one song by Soundgarden. Well, I have nothing to do, I might give Rise a try.

Meh, Rise Against isn't really my style but they have a few good songs.

I didnt even know they were touring in the UK, but a friend of mine asked me last week if I'd like to go and was like OH MY GOD YES. YES. YES. I cant wait.

Ive been listening to the songs on youtube, and I have to say my favourites from this album

Got it today, listening to it atm. Liking it so far, and I wasn't a huge fan of their earlier work.

I couldn't wait, so I downloaded it yesterday (still have my iTunes pre-order though), and I'm disappointed. I'm hoping it will grow on me, but this album is too much like Sufferer and the Witness (which makes sense I guess...), and I didn't like that album that much.

I quite liked the sufferer and the witness, but this just sounds like an inferior version of it. They need to try something new. I still enjoyed the album though.

I managed to get the album 3 days ago (maybe two?) and I think it's pretty awesome. I personally like revolutions per minute best still. I'd say Saviour, Re-Education, and Kotov Syndrome are my favorites, but Hero of War's pretty great too. I noticed it's a lot like Sufferer and the Witness too, which happens to be my least favorite of their albums. I was still pretty happy with it but it didn't quite live up to the expectations I had when I first heard Re-Education Through Labor.

Umm, I think some of their easily most political music (Black Masks and Gasoline, Blood Red White and Blue, State of the Union, etc) was far before Prayer of the Refugee. If anything I'd say they stopped making their political opinions as obvious in their music. Which is a shame imo.

Prayer of the Refugee is honestly my least favorite song, which is probably why it's the most mainstream of their songs. Tim (the singer) can do a hell of a lot with his voice. He's got stuff like Hero of War and Swing Life Away all the way up to stuff like Dead Ringer or State of the Union. There's even some heavier stuff he did with The Killing Tree. I wouldn't not listen to them just from hearing one song.

 

 

 

I can't stand Chris Cornell either though. Probably because I'm a huge RATM fan so if it's not Zack it's not good enough.

 

 

 

Anyways sorry about the long post, they're my favorite band so I had to. Album's out in stores tomorrow, I'll probably buy it even though I downloaded it.

Love Rise Against. Though I heard some songs from Appeal to Reason and they're nothing compared to Sufferer & the Witness. I'm still getting this, can't risk missing it.
