Corn_corn2
Well, it is now officially 100 years since the Chicago Cubs last won a world series. I laugh at them. I cannot help but blatantly guffaw at the thought of the many different ways that baseball team can find to fail. Now, I'm going to be honest. Im biased on this subject; ie a St Louis Cardinals fan. EVEN SO, that does not take away from the fact the past 2 years the Cubs have been subsequently SWEPT IN 3 GAMES by: -A 2007 Arizona Diamonbacks team, that, despite winning 90 games, were OUTSCORED by 20 runs aggregate during the season. -A 2008 Los Angeles Dodgers team that was a cumulative 6 games over .500 for the season. Double fail, 1) it shows the weakness of the NL West, and 2) that the Cubs were beaten by a team with 13 less wins in the regular season then them. Gf Billy Goat (if you have no idea what I'm talking about, click this [hide=]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Curse_of_the_Billy_Goat)[/hide] Anyway, the point of this is to ask your opinoins about the Cubs. Are you a believer who thinks they will ever win, or a pessimist who thinks that they will eternally fail in the postseason? post away plawx :D

warren211
Meh, I live in Chicago. The cubs have their own theme song here made by energetic fans and played on the radio every time a game comes up. "Go cubs go... GO CUBS GO! Hey chicago, whad'dya say? the Cubs are gonna win today. Go Cubs go...." Have to admit, it's pretty catchy, but annoying. The cubs are a huge deal in my neighborhood, the morning announcements at our school was all about how the cubs got swept. I feel really bad for the 90 year old cubs fans in our city who've been waiting for decades to see it happen. One day... [hide=]tip it would pay me $500.00 to keep my clothes ON :( :lol:But then again, you fail to realize that 101% of the people in this universe hate you. Yes, humankind's hatred against you goes beyond mathematical possibilities. That tears it. I'm starting an animal rebellion using my mind powers. Those PETA bastards will never see it coming until the porcupines are half way up their asses.[/hide]Apparently a lot of people say it. I own. http://linkagg.com/ Not my site, but a simple, budding site that links often unheard-of websites that are amazing for usefulness and fun. BlueLancer
There's no such thing as curses. Sometimes, you just suck that bad. *cough* Pittsburgh Pirates *cough* Heh, to vaguely quote a pissed off commentator... "A bet against Washington Nationals is a bet for winning " Nats and SD Padres are probably the most horrid teams up in MLB. Sure they can score occassional wins like every other team, but they're so unreliable it's.. Unbelieveable. Sometimes their bullpen players seem like high school beginners.. Just download some of their 2008 season matches.

MoeSzyslak
There's no such thing as curses. Sometimes, you just suck that bad. *cough* Pittsburgh Pirates *cough* Ugh, im 16... they just turned in their 16th consecutive losing season, and there's nothing to get excited about next year, other than hoping/praying some of our top prospects do good in the minors. As long as our owner continues to pay everyone on the team the league minimum, it won't get any better. Even though the scrubs can't win in the playoffs, at least they get there. Go Jason Bay (what we got in return is a 3rd baseman who can't hit .200, a relief pitcher who can't throw strikes, and an outfielder who's out for 4-6 months)
justcallmedaddy
Yeah just like Marty said, Chubb fans are the worst in baseball. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ky9Kso9q_Ws I hate how they flood in the reds games, seriously, it's like it's a Chubb home game and not a Reds. So I am obviously happy they can't win a postseason game.
Powman3
My football team will soon win a Super Bowl. I dunno about this year, though, with the refs calling crappy calls. I don't have anything to say about my Padres though. They really did suck this season (though Jake Peavy is an excellent pitcher, you can't deny it). Range_This11
One of the greatest songs ever written about the Chicago Cubs. NoMoreDead
Clutch hitting is a make or break. There is no way to teach clutch. The Cubs have a bunch of great players who choke on their own expectations. They looked past the Dodgers and into the NLCS this year. Then, once they lost game 1, they lost all focus and felt sorry for themselves. I hope the Cubs win it soon. I'm a huge fan of the Cubs (and Cleveland Indians, you can imagine what my sports woes are like :() so I hope they can pull it together within my adolescence. Mirror
I admit, I am a huge Cubs fan. It was painful to watch yet another sweep happen in the post season, two years in a row. Think about it, 9 postseason losses in a row. That's just horrible. I think the pressure finally got to Dempster and the rest of the team. This team was told they were 'the team' but look at where they are now. They are hitting the golf courses yet again during October. Now I don't know how much of a fan I am if I wasn't to believe in the curses. Billy goat, black cat, Bartman (what's with all the letter B's?) you name it. This year, they just played horrible in their last three games. The Dodgers deserved to have won that division series. Now I am still looking out to that day when the Cubs do win it all. Chicago will be THE place to be for a party. I know that whatever I am doing, I will drop it and head on over to Chi-Town. That will be the party of the century. :D A reflection is just a distorted reality held by glass and your mind.
