March 23, 200917 yr Just beat the campaign on the middle difficulty, I think. I was pretty pleased. This was my first Gears game, so it was pretty interesting for me. The story was nice, and the ending was pretty good, though a little abrupt for my tastes. I wonder if that's it for the series. [hide=]Did they sink Jacinto to kill the rest of the Locusts underground? Is that why they did that? Also, that voice of the doctor at the end was cool.[/hide]
March 27, 200917 yr Originally they found out that the locust were planning to sink jacinto to take down all the humans at once. But, under jacinto is the friendly locust horde. So they decided to sink it before the locust could leave the tunnels and hopefully defeat them for good. P.S: The docter at the end was Marcus's father Gained first quest cape on 3/22/09! March 27, 200917 yr Also, insade mode was a joke tbh. The only part I struggled on was the Right and left hallway with the huge dropoff in the center part in the locust stronghold. P.S: The docter at the end was Marcus's father[/hide] [hide=A Small Correction.]They thought that the sinking of Jacincto was to take out the human colony. Then the Gears found out about the Lambent and the civil war going on between the Lambent and the regular Locust. The Locust hive just happened to be located under Jacincto, and Jacincto (I believe) was a peninsula, so sinking Jacincto would flood the Locust hive. The regular Locust would make the final excavations just after their horde was out of the hive, so that the Lambent would be drowned when the hive flooded. The humans were not actually seen as too great of a threat, other than delaying the sinking of Jacincto and slowly the evacuations. This is strictly what I remember from the Campaign, so I may be wrong. My least favourite part of the campaign is that THEY KILLED CARMINE NUMBER TWO. Honestly, they didn't even need a second Carmine, except to easily implement a tutorial into the storyline. Also, the hardest part of the campaign for me was escaping through the cave on the Reaver. When the [Flying Brumak?] fired rockets, I thought the only way to survive was the shoot them down, as using the left thumb stick moved you about a foot in any direction. Apparently one foot is a lot of space, so I finally tried to evade the rockets after about the 30th attempt of shooting down the rockets (I would always make it just past the last or second last rocket sequence, but with next-to zero health left, so I'd be finished off immediately by the chaingun.[/hide] There's no such thing as regret. March 27, 200917 yr I typed in up quickly, that's why there is missing information, typos and such. Don't expect perfection. As for not placing it in a spoiler, oh well. Gives more people reason to finish the game to actually see what happens  Gained first quest cape on 3/22/09! April 9, 200917 yr So does anyone expect a Gears of War 3? I sure as hell do. Why I think so.. 1. Queen was never proven to be killed 2. The answer to why Adam Fenix was in Locust computes was never found 3. The teaser of Adam Fenix's voice after the credits 4. Finally, In Gears 1, why did The Fenix estate have vast info on the tunnels in a secret lab?
April 9, 200917 yr Well, Adam was a scientist. I don't know exactly what he was studying, but it may have been the locust. As for a gears of war 3, that would be awsome. Gained first quest cape on 3/22/09! Gained 99 fishing 5/22/09!I forgot when I got 99 cooking!Proud member of Jovial Rovers
April 13, 200917 yr Whatever happened with the sires? There was a whole level leading up to them and at the end of the mission that was it. Get back here so I can rub your butt.
April 13, 200917 yr I'd have to say that they are locked back in that compound. The last time you see the sires, you run through and that gate closes behind you. So I'm guessing they are still there. April 13, 200917 yr I just thought you'd killed them all. It's not like they were reproducing, these things were science experiments, and when you released them, those were all that existed. Kill them all, problem solved. Besides, at worst now there's 5-6 left. Not really a problem compared to an entire locust Horde. I'm no so sure how many Locust are even left, I'm assuming very few. However, if there were sufficient numbers of both Lambent and regular locust, I think that the Queen will appeal to you about forging an alliance to eliminate the Lambent, and when they're gone, the Locust will turn on you, but will end up all dead. A third Carmine death will be involved for sure early on. There's no such thing as regret. April 13, 200917 yr An after thought I had is that in the third Gears, the third Carmine doesn't appear until later in the game, at which point he is some high-ranking officer, and fairly well decorated. He does all of this complicated saving the day stuff, maybe even a barrel roll. Then he gets sniped. There's no such thing as regret. April 15, 200917 yr The only reason there was a carmine in gears 2, is for the tuturial. He served no other purpose. Gained first quest cape on 3/22/09! Gained 99 fishing 5/22/09!I forgot when I got 99 cooking!Proud member of Jovial Rovers
