Now, this is not a rant about the mini-game.

 

 

 

When I first heard that the Runecrafting Guild was released, I was very excited, knowing that it was also open to freeplay, and I really wanted those fancy robes all my high-levelled friends are wearing. So I decided to level my measly 36 runecrafting. Using a caculator, I worked out that I needed around 6,000 earth runes crafted along with earth gloves. I started to mine the essence, and after around 2,000 I decided to buy the rest. then I went over to Fist of Guthix to earn the gloves. after some time, I managed to get enough tokens for the gloves, and I crafted the runes. I managed to reach level 50! Excited, I crafted the leftovers and ran to the Runecrafting guild.

 

 

 

Everything was new to me and all I've seen about it was a short video on youtube about it. I walked in and I wanted to examine everything inside the guild, and I read through conversations with the Lady out front.(sorry, forgot the name.) after reading through a rough description of the minigame I tried it out. The minigame itself was great, with awesome rewards. However, as I played the minigame I tried to find out more about this guild, and the skill itself. To my disappointment, there were nothing in there about the guild, nor any about the skill itself, other than a very brief description by the Lady in red. There were many wizards wondering around, but they do not provide any conversation, just the option of letting them put you into a team. There were just four wizards you can talk to, and three of them were all involved in the runecrafting mini-game. The other one is sort of crazy, and provide very little entertainment.

 

 

 

What I feel that the "Runecrafting Guild" is completely revolving around the Great orb Project Mini-Game,and simple serves to provide a reason for the level limit. I would much prefer more about the history of runecrafting, as described in the quest, and some shops would be handy, Now if you compared this to any of the other guilds, for example the champions guild. It contains a mini-game, and two shops for good equipment, If one desires to buy it from a shop. It also contains a chicken coop for training and gathering bones, feathers, and a range near by for cooking it. While it is not the best guild, it still has things that will draw players back, sometime or another. The runecrafting guild, however, is only visited my many because of its rewards(rune essence sell for outrageous prices,The robes/staff), and frankly, I probably wouldn't visit it again, unless I have a need for money. There is also no bank nearby. I can understand that the point was to stop players from withdrawing their own essence to craft in the minigame, but a deposit box won't hurt.

 

 

 

There are many ways to make this guild better, and I just think that They could've made it better, considering they made it already.I hope the runecrafting guild will be updated in the future, and become a more welcome place than a simple mini-game.

If compared to a release like the Warrior's Guild, I can totally see why the Runecrafting guild would suck.

It isn't exactly all it could be. :-# I still find free essence and altar teleports very useful.

The fishing guild doesnt have the origins of fishing or anything liek that. No one complains about it.

 

 

 

I think the main reason for the runecrafting guild was to make runecrafting a bit easier via the tablets, cheap ess and the omni talisman/ staff.

Ahem. Fishing's origins really aren't important- Runecrafting's are. It could make quite a quest if ever they are revealed. Plus, the Fishing guild is a lot older. Look at other guilds of similar age- most of them are quite useless, though that is not really an excuse.

Hmm? Why do I disgust? Fishing's origins are, quite frankly, rather obvious. Don't get me wrong ,it's my favorite skill and my second highest skill, but fishing was begun to feed people. Originally, it would consist of spear or net fishing but, as time and technology increased, would later involve things such as rods, cages, and underwater traps.

Yeah, I'm also a little disappointed with the whole not having an extensive history on RCing, but all in all, I believe the guild is adequate. It's got a decent game, a way of raising RCing, and a source of really awesome robes.

i dont think u shud be complaining cuz for god sakes is freakin runecrafting?! how much better could they make it :?: without making it very cheap and easy to get 99 rc? u shudnt have expected much :wall: thnx to u ppl i didnt even work for it \ i jus went on utube to see if it sucked or not :P

The rant is about how the guild revolves completely around the minigame. Without the minigame, the guild is useless. :?

You get there via the wizard tower. In the basement of the wizard tower is...an ess tele. Now maybe it is really inconveniant, I have not been by the wizard tower in months so I don't know, but I would think that while mildly inconveniant, there is no compeling reason to put an ess mine in the guild itself. That would just allow you to mine your ess for the game right there in the guild.

The point is that even the most scarcely related thing to RC isn't in the RC guild. It's a Guild, not a CW lobby. Perhaps ess mine was a bad example.

They have all this strange machinery that looks like its suppose to examine/study runes/runecrafting, but, it doesnt even do anything important.

 

 

 

Perhaps a rune shop with slightly lowered prices in accordance to how many peices of the robe set you have. (It wouldnt be unlimited, and a full set would provide a percentage of deduction from the rune cost. Would sell all types of runes, and would replenish by NPCs teleporting in and out, delivering runes, as they are runecrafting them. (Kind of like the miners in the blastfurnace and its shop).

 

 

 

Just small extras like that would make the guild a little bit more interesting.

i think there should be another floor with a runecrafting shop a bank and some wizard ranting on about something because lets face it runecrafting is one of the hardest skills to get up and the ranges guild has lower requirements and its got more to offer...(okay their mini games rubbish but so what? )

The range guild is actually better than the runecrafting guild, if only the rewards inside are better, and cannot be bought elsewhere :

Yeah, I was hoping for some history on RuneCrafting, but the guild seems good enough for now. It does have that neat map, and the place looks cool because its like flying in space. :D
