i know its runescape and all, but has anyone else noticed its been a lot more laggy than usual lately? i mean seriously...how am i supposed to bake a cake when it takes 30 seconds to reg that i used the raw cake on the range top? =)

Maybe its just your computer? I haven't noticed any lag.

 

Maybe play in low detail, this may stop you from lagging.

Lag happens. Jagex can't avoid it. But you can.

Jagex servers rarely lag, maybe one disconnect every month or so with a big update. The problem lies betwen your computer and the RS server, something that Jagex can do nothing about. You'd be better off posting this rant in your ISPs support forums.

If you use wireless internet, one of your neighbors might be "borrowing" your internet. Make sure it's secure. And make sure you don't have any downloads running in the background. If all else fails contact you ISP via phone, you will have more luck than on their forum.

Pull up the task manager on your computer (ctrl+alt+del), go to the "Processes" tab, and see what's eating up all your CPU cycles.

 

 

 

WARNING: Don't monkey around with the processes in there unless you KNOW what they're doing. If you kill something that's necessary for your computer to run, you can get all sorts of problems. But if you've got iTunes or something using 35% of your CPU cycles, turning it off might help cut down on lag.

I hate when people complain about lag.

 

 

 

Its a factor between the following.

 

-Your computer speed

 

-Your internet speed

 

-The server location

 

-The type if internet your using (wireless or not)

 

 

 

Unless you can have technical proof that these are all not the cause, then its most likely your end. Also note, the server location has nothing to do with the actual game causing lag, because if your in America, its going to take longer for data to travel to the UK than it would to travel half way across the country your already in.

This isnt the RSOF, and, we dont want to have to delete the image every time someone quotes you.

I rarely ever lag, many people would and have said the same.

 

It ALL depends on your computer speed and your internet connection.

I almost never experience lagg on rs, maybe its my comp.

Another factor, if you have wireless, could be overhead cover. Some of our trees grew over our roof and messed up our service's connectivity.

its mostly ur computer but runescape really lags after an update. the bigger the update the bigger the lag. looking at ur date of post it looks like the lag u experienced was from the halloween event. I remember the GE update lagged for a week then it returned to normal. its an update lag.

Thats really not true. I NEVER experience lag, so I highly doubt that it's Jagex servers that are lagging. It will be your computer and your processor etc.

Wrong, 100%. Jagex servers lag on the rare times when you and everyone else in the world DC at the same time, which I've had happen twice in 4+ years of playing. Not really that common?

I've never really lagged, unless my internet decides to disconnect for no apparent reason, which it seems to do every Sunday morning at around 3 am or when I turn on my PS3.

Most people consider lag a temporary disconnect on hiccup in a connection resulting in them freezing in RS for a second or more. Lag, technically, is the delay between your computer's internet signal and Jagex's servers, which EVERYONE experiences.

You have a slow internet connection, use lowest detail you can.

High Detail might lag on some slow computers, maybe play in Low Detail? Maybe get better internet connection?
