Dragonkin: After the Rise of Lucien

Featured Replies

Actually the story behind Zamorak ascending to godhood is that he and several other people/mahjarrat overthrew him. Zamorak thought that he could beat Zaros with the Staff. he snuck up behind him and stabbed him in the back. Zaros went into a rage and was strangling Zamorak as he tripped. In doing so the Staff impaled Zamorak and acted as a conductor that transfered the power of Godhood into Zamorak and made Zaros pale from this world.

Through this, Zamorak became and God and Zaros was no longer in this world.

Zamorak is still very much afraid of Zaros.

Movario is talking about "it's power"(the Stone of Jas's power, as referred to in the previous dialogues). How does it fit in?

priest_wiz.png

Not sure.

The only proof we have so far is the implied use of the stone during While Guthix sleeps.

It may have been used to bolster Zamorak's power to where he thought he could defeat Zaros. Perhaps it was the aura, like the one harnessed for the 400k exp after the quest, that allowed the staff to transfer the power. He, Zamorak, could have had that aura about him and could have been the catalyst for his rise to godhood.

This is all speculation, mind you.

To further speculate, during the Legacy of Seergaze we find that werewolves are on the wrong side of the River Salve. This is breaking the Eddicts of Guthix and the Sara priests are trying to workout a loophole in the decrees.

During the Shadow of the Storm quest you fight Agrith Naar, a demon who had been banished along with all the gods of Runescape. Juna tells you that he must have found the loophole that I speculate the Sara priests are trying to find.

Lucien has taken the Stone of Jas and the Staff of Armadyll (sp?)

With all of this information here is what I believe will play out.

Lucien will learn to harnass the Stone as Zamorak did. Since a god is required to transfer the godhood into Lucien (As evidenced through Zaros/Zamorak), Lucien has to find a way to work around the Eddicts of Guthix that states that if they are broken Guthix will return and recreate everything, so that he can bring a god back into this world, thus giving him the opportunity to take the power from that god. I am not sure which god though I speculate Seren might be the god as the Zamorakian tribe of the Elves now holds the Tower of Voices and it seems as though the mahjarrat work together.

Anyway that is major speculation but it seems to fight according to the evidence that we have.

Dang! I'm loving reading this thread ::'

Keep those theories comming

Hmmm, the "east" (Canafis and such) is full of Zaros symbols... The return of Zaros is coming?!

(Zamorak and Lucien work together, they did back in Classic, Underground Pass quest and Biohazard I think it was).

Either that, or he will attempt to take guthix's place, if so were screwed. Remember, guthix has the power to wipe out all on runescape, according to the Guthixian Eddicts. If Lucian wants all power, who else to take down? Supposeably, guthix is the most powerful of gods.

Also, the quests name kinda gives hints to his intention, at least I beleive it does. Nevertheless, the next quest in this series is gonna be a big one.

Now that I think about it, how would new gods play into the Eddicts of Guthix? If Lucien becomes a god, he would not be under the accords of those eddicts as he was not around to be banished. That creates another possibility of Lucien finding another way of ascending to godhood and being the only god permisable in this realm.

Lucien didn't take part in Ardy quests, save from Temple of Ikov. And how are they supposed to work together when Lucien seemingly tries to KO Zammy just as he did to Zaros?

I have found some new information:

After Zamorak impaled both him and Zaros and got his power, he was banished by the other Gods. He returned later to Gielinor with his godly powers fully developped. So it might have been during this period that Zamorak used the Stone of Jas.

Also, Lucien actually didn't help during the rebellion against Zaros. It is also never mentioned that he follows Zamorak (correct me if I'm wrong).

this is what I found on a wiki but it might be incorrect ;)

Zamorak attacked Zaros in his own chamber, while his allies such as Lord Drakan, Thammaron, Enakhra, Zemouregal, Hazeel, Viggora, and Lucien fought his bodyguards outside. Through pure luck, Zamorak impaled the Empty Lord and stole his godly powers. Zaros slowly faded from existence, cursing all those who aided Zamorak. Lucien, his blood flowing with powerful magics, was unaffected. It seems that he was the one who discovered the Saradominist spy Lennissa, though he knew she could come in useful at another time.
Cartiaga.png

Lucien though was one to back Zamorak when he betrayed Zaros. Most Mahjarrat did as a matter of fact. Zemouregal and Lord Drakan as well as Lucien I know for a fact took Zamorak's side.

I've got even better information, straight from the game itself:

This is told by Viggora (the final ghost in the ghostly robes miniquest):

So anyway, Lord Zamorak and his trusted compatriots, namely myself, Hazeel, Drakan, Thammaron and Zemouregal made plans to overthrow our lord using the god-weapon, and by pledging allegiance to Zamorak as our master, were each to be given a large piece of land as our own in return. We decided to move immediately, before anyone got cold feet, or any other parties could interfere in our works, and made haste towards the castle where our Lord lived. If Lucien had not been otherwise occupied, he would have probably accompanied us with his magicks, but it turned out the foolish Dhalak had made his involvement unnecessary with some spells of his own allowing us to get close to the castle with the staff without the Empty Lord being able to sense its presence.

Great thread Physco, thankyou for compiling all this evidence & research.

I feel as though I know more about the dragonkin now.

I'm back after a couple of wild days (*sigh*) to post some new stuff.

To start off with the GWD frozen door: an interesting thing about it is that the symbols light up if you wear something from the god wich the symbol represent, but the door still won't budge.

Now about Prifddinas: though it is still unlikely that the Dragonkin could reside there, the KBD did mention something about a seal. From the plague city quest soryline we know that the library in it is sealed off (with 9 seals, of wich 1 has been broken). Could be a link.

This cleerly points out that somehow Zamorak used the Stone of Jas to become a God. But we thought untill now that he just used the Staff of Armadyl and Zaros's power to become one. Any idea's?

How do we know that "its power" is not referring to the Staff of Armadyl? Its kind of taken out of context. Here's how we know!

I would put the entire conversation in it if i knew how to paste those pics together...

Tryin to work on that now

EDIT: found it. I'll post it in a few minutes

EDIT 2: here it is:

Forgive me if I'm wrong (as I most probably am: the spirit realm is hardly my strong point as I've done neither Spirit of Summer nor Summer's End) but as I understand it the Spirit Realm functions as a polar opposite to our own (the case in point being the Spirit Beast rising in our realm when defeated in the Spirit Realm), but if the supposedly Dragonkin castle's Spirit Realm counterpart were to be destroyed, would wouldn't it be in our realm as it originally was?

Not necessarily

It could be because the destruction of that castle happened before that of the deaths of the farmer family (wich is as I believe the time of the spirit realm)

Ah, right. That makes sense and explains why the castle is destroyed in both realms too; thanks.

Besides the fact that it almost crashed my browser in the process of opening this thread while playing RuneScape, it was worth it. This is one of the most interesting topics I have read about here. Great finds!

Picture3-1-1-1.jpg

look at the back round picture of "lucien rising" what does look like? a dragonkin maybe? its extremley faint but you can see it. Psycho_Robot said:

however, the Dragonkin chose to watch. And wait. From their secret fortress somewhere in the far corner of the world, the Dragonkin bide their time, puppet-masters of Gielinor, counting down the days until the move against Lucien, destroying him, and taking the two most powerful artifacts in RuneScape in one fell swoop. The Dragonkin wait.

Surely someone else has noticed the distinctly Dragonkin shaped shadow behind Lucien...?

Actually, I just rewatched the cutscene on Y'ube and I didn't see this part at all, where is this from?

Ah, he fooled another one \'

That image was created by our beloved topicstarter, he placed the shadow there.

He did a good job with it too. Did he cut and paste Lucien in there or does Lucien actually appear in front of ruins at some point? I can't remember that well.

Zamorak, and Iban (his proclaimed son?) and Lucien all were involved in the west-ish side of Ardougne and we still don't really know what it's for... Look back at Underground Pass amongst other quests, they're pretty dam deep quests for like 6 years ago!
