Including one of my teachers, who's a girl, with four - two in relatively dirty places, aaaaand she has her belly button and nose pierced.

Looks cool,but make sure you like how it looks on your skin.Also,I've heard color hurts a lot.I don't have any coloreds,so I can't confirm this.

 

 

 

I can't confirm it either since my tattoo is black/grey but I don't think color would hurt more. It would be just like shading (higher needle count than for linework) but with a different colored ink and I personally thought the shading was the easiest part of my tattoo as far as pain goes (though I felt very little overall).

 

 

 

I have a colored tattoo and I can tell you from experience thee pain is not much worse if anymore noticeable at all. It really just depends on where the coloring is going, and if that part would irritate more. Yeah the line work is the most painful part. Once you get to shading it's a breeze. Oh yeah you might sweat a little too or at least I did lol.

I didn't sweat at all during my tattoo, but I did bleed more than I expected lol :P This thread reminds me that I'm too poor to go get started on another tattoo :( lol

No. Getting your first tattoo is like having sex for the first time, you didn't know how it was going to feel. But then you went back for hotter, better things.

Get a tramp stamp instead.

The color of those shreds is a bit pinkish. Maybe introduce a little black, and darken the red. Also, the part right underneath the lion looks a bit like wallpaper peeling off.. Not sure what to do there. If that's what you want, cool, but I think it looks a little weird.

Remember this, any respectable (tattoo) artist will make the piece look 100% before they begin the tattoo. What the OP has posted is a drawing by a friend. The tattoo artist will make sure it looks perfect and he/she will know what colors will work best with OP's skin tone and will probably make the "peeling" areas look like the skin is ripping away.
