my_pet_worm
my guide 1) open up console with hammer(smashing best way). 2) buy a persian cat. 3) buy some cleaning spray. 4) spray all the inside of the console, including all electronics. 5) wipe around with the persian cat. 6) give back to store and say you bought it that way. 7) will get refunded a new clean gamecube. works like a dream. this does not actually work unless the store assistant is high, i do not take any responsiblity for any gamecubes destroyed and not refunded. this is at your own risk
runesmithie
never thought about it b4 lol id like some input on this too :D Right now I'm using q-tips, camera lens cleaner fluid, a lens wipe, a screwdriver (to push the wipe in tight places), and a brush blower. I also used toothpaste to buff out some scratches on the top circular disk thing I just posted something! ^_^ to the terrorist...er... kirbybeam. ____
Into the washing machine works good :P Seriously though, a few non-static wipes works fine for me.
jak722
I never clean my PS1... prolly cuz I never use it... Suggest you go buy those duster cans that people use for PCs. Works well enuf on almost anything. :D The Enrichment Center reminds you that the weighted companion cube will never threaten to stab you and, in fact, cannot speak. In the event that the weighted companion cube does speak, the Enrichment Center urges you to disregard its advice.

mk
inside: its very important that you use high alcohol fluid (and i dont mean super strong beer) because this will eqaporate easily and not cause shorts on the circuitry. you need to use a real hair brush for dusting as man made fibres will cause a large build up of static on the brush and cause damage. outside: standard cleaning wipes are always good, baby wipes or screen cleaners. avoid using a vaccume cleaner on air vents as friction from the air movement can cause some damage. brooce
Normally the only thing you need to clean the inside of a console is its fan, and the lens (DO NOT CLEAN THE LENSE BY HAND!). To clean the fan take out all the screws on the bottom of the box, and lift the cover off, and then take a DRY rag or paper towel, and wipe the blades of it and if u are brave enuf to get a face full of dust blow into it. (or open it and clean with a dry rag or paper towel =p) To clean the lense you MUST get a lense cleaner. ALL you must do to do this is pop in the console cleaner (not a the computer) and let it run until its done. These will all help proformance. Just to make it look pleasing if you have taken off the cover for the things posted above, look to see if it has any cables attached to it. (If it does just ignore this part.) You may then take it and clean it with water, (do not use chemicals on consoles) and take a rag to it. Let dry for untill no water is visable and the cover does not feel wet (make sure its not your hands lol.) IF yours does have cables connected to it just a take a dry paper towel to it (or a rag.) This is all you need to clean your console. <( *-* )> <(*-* <) (> *-*)> <( *-* )>
XxTearGodxX
I say just dust it off every now & then. I dust off my ps2 & take it to my friend who works at a gaming store who's good at console repairs to open it up & clean the dust out of it every couple months. How2PK
You need to clean them on the inside? I only blow the slot (like blow in it) when it doesn't recognize my game, and I just use some yellow dust thingy to do the outside.
