Danqazmlp
|| That was how much i care about any item's price rises or lowerings. It's a short fad, always is always will be. Driven up by people such as yourself just asking about how it will rise, then it will crash to below its origional price, then be brought again, starting the cycle over again, its what all items go through. Edit: looking at the g.e, it hasn't risen today either.... Want to be my friend? That shows how obvious my point is. When people are buying over g.e price for an item like SGS, the people buying are not people who will use it, they are people who will merchant them. If somebody is actually going to buy and use one they would buy for g.e max value at max, very very very rarely would they buy for over g.e price. Want to be my friend? compfreak847
Why do people instantly blame merchants every time an item swings in price? Hello, just like in the real world, items fluctuate. Updates and whatnot might cause them to drop until they drop below the point where few people want to get them but lots of people want to buy them - the existing sales is used up, and the price shoots up for several days until it gets higher then anyone wants to pay for and people start going to GWD. I say merchants because they recently dumped their AGS's into the market and went to SGS's. There is no way SGS would rise 1.6M in 1 day unless someone bought up ALL the hilts/GS's coming into the market. Anytime there is a major price change followed by a drop it's becauser merchants made a quick buck. It's not t3h evil price manipulatorzz!?!!! There are a few groups of merchants throughout RuneScape who regularly manipulate prices. Yea, items prices fluctuate but not to the degree that some items have in the past few months. I'm beginning to grow tired of this "item prices fluctuate in the real world" argument. In the real world, item prices are relatively stable and when demand does increase, if plotted on a graph it will generally show a steady increase in price over a period of time. Surely you've seen how drastically some items rise and then how badly they fall from grace? The Berserker Ring as one such example, is regularly merchanted and the price rarely reflects supply and demand values, IMO. I know that RS is reknown for scaremongering noobs running around blaming anything and everything they don't like but in this case I really do feel we have a massive problem. I would liken this situation with the current oil situation worldwide. Oil definately does not cost as much per barrel as we're being charged throughout the world, there is a small group of companies/men somewhere out there manipulating oil prices by spreading rumours, holding back oil etc. The same thing happens in RS with rare items and the problem is getting worse, not better. It's been happening for ages now and something needs to be done. The stars are matter, we're matter, but it doesn't matter.-Don Van Vliet
totalpwnage
Contacts have told me before SGS started raising that it was going to be manipulated. The next day, it started going up. So yes, its being manipulated. As for the dump price, I have nothing on that yet. Could be 45m, 47.5m, but I doubt they'll set it at 50m. Started free trade with 1.5m cash. 2 weeks later, have hit max cash 2x. However, if it's a really good organised clan, like the one with the rune knives, it might hit 50M, even 60M. However, if it's a bunch of ACIDY nubs, it wont even reach 45. That's why I bought one myself. I'm not a member of any merching clans, nor do I know anyone who is. The price has been slowly dropping less and less each time. The last time it dropped around 50k, down from 120k the previous time. 9 times out of 10, when an item does that, it'll skyrocket the next day. I bought one myself, and sure enough. Pretty soon it'll taper off, one day it'll barely rise, then it'll drop like crazy and repeat the cycle with a slightly smaller swing, taking perhaps a month or two, while all the while gradually tapering down. It happens frequently with high ticket items, and is very obvious and easy to predict.
