what do u rekon is teh most useless skill out there?

Featured Replies

What's even the point of this question?

I know firemaking is a useless skill, but I like training it, so to me it is a very important skill. ::'

I asked myself the same question sometimes about some other skills: allmost all skills with which you make items could be seen useless, because you could buy the items instead of making them and lose less money than when you make them out of materials which are more expensive.

But what in runescape is "useful" then? I don't think training combat is useful, because I hate fighting monsters.

Conclusion: to me a skill is useless when you hate training it. Fun is the only thing that should be your goal in Runescape. I have never trained Summoning, only with Tears of Guthix, and I never use a familiar besides the beast of burden ones. So to me that skill is useless, I never use the full potential of the skill.

I also know that when I finally get 99 firemaking in a few days, I can do nothing more (useful) than a level 1 firemaker. But I think firemaking can become very useful in the future. There are so many awesome things jagex could make for this skill, so I hope there will be an update some day which will start everybody to train firemaking, not for the cape, but to be able to shoot flaming arrows, blocking a player´s path with fires in Stealing Creation, making your own fireworks display, giving cooking a lower burning rate, making fire spells more powerfull etc.

There are so many possibilities, maybe they will become reality some day. <3: Untill that day, go on saying firemaking is so useless and boring, you DON´T have to train it! Please remember that Runescape isn´t a chore!

Firemaking is the most useless skill... if it was merged with woodcutting (almost) nobody would miss it :) .

Runecrafting.

You can buy your runes from a freaking store. All are buyable!

As for firemaking, it has pyre thingers, much more helpful than making runes...

And Dragoon, you arent the best person to tell someone their English is bad.

You NEVER put spaces between your fullstops, commas, etc.

runecrafting is a great way to mke money once you get 2x nats and stuff. its a good money maker. not to mention the fancy runecrafting guild

Also runescape is as useless as any skill. Why play. "To waste time" is not an answer because you can do that with any other skill.

I definitely think Firemaking is the most useless skill.

It's just a bottomless pit of money wasting.

im not a member and never have been, but doesnt construction allow u to make storage space for ur items so u have more bank space

in my case i think it would by firemaking at the moment. Its not totally useless but u cant compare it to the other skills out there.

Storage space? Feh, that's nothing. Tele portals and gilded altars are where it's at. And he said it's useless.

Use a good 500k, organise the Teleports nicely and BAM! you can stay on ancient magiks and use a home tablet x 100 since the house becomes a teleport Hub.

I agree. Such a house is invaluable to:

1. Slaying (you can get around everywhere, and still use Lunar magic, or Ancient magic or whatever.

2. Barrowing with ice spells (Kharyll teleport for free).

3. Questing.

4. Clue hunting.

5. Penguin hunting.

A very useful thing. The only problem is acquiring the House teleport tabs - either cash out to get Con for a Mahogany Eagle lectern, ask around in hopes of lending the house, or buy from GE at a modest price.

And I'd rather see visitors get repeatedly bashed in the head by a rocnar after failing the teleport trap, then stumble back upstairs only to be blinded by a shiny model of the solar system than have some pointy grey armour.

What about skills that are worthless to raise after a certain level?

I'd say that RC gives rewards for all the levels, like Smithing, prayer.

-Mining would be cut after level 85.

-F2P magic loses its value after 59... or cmb lvl 50, whichever comes first

-Firemaking loses all value after f2p 60... and even then wasn't useful to begin with

-All pures know that defense is the most useless skill ever

-All tanks know that strength and attack are the most useless skill ever

IMO Range, and Crafting are pretty worthless, especially in F2P. They're the skills I don't get any use out of :P.

With out firemaking the economy would crash.

With out firemaking the economy would crash.

......What? :? :?

Firemakers buy a hell of a lot of logs. Yes there is fletching but the logs that you cant fletch with would be worthless and a majority of players would cut yews/willows dropping the price of yews. While fletchers buy alot of yew logs, alc prices wouldn't change but with all the extra yew logs they would be dumped at minimum price causing nature runes to rise. And when natures rise pure essence will rise.

Also without firemaking ALL logs would go to fletching and the yew logs would be made into yew bows and then alc'ed releasing money into the economy and with more money in the average players pockets it would cause the economy to be unstable.

hatzyv.png

Pureprayer, you're awesome.

how many people actually buy yew logs to burn?

I agree on the rest of the points though, it would affect the fletching related economy.

Well people either light eucalyptus, maples, or yews. With firemaking gone the only log with a market would be yews. So people would cut yews more causing a price drop.

Hunter has maybe five items that are useful, and does not seem to connect at all with any other skill. It is also very unpopular, almost as ignored as farming. Firemaking, on the other hand can be used for cooking at a convienient location.

In my opinion we have to look at this in the terms of "If you took out any skill, which would least affect the gameplay?" and the answer to that is Runecrafting. Runecrafting is nothing more than another way to make money, and there are already better methods of making money than Runecrafting.

So disregarding quests, seeing as all skills are required for quests, essentially nothing would be changed with the removal of runecrafting, and the same can't be said for any other skill.

Runecrafters make (almost) ALL THE RUNES IN RUNESCAPE. Without Runecrafting there would be no magic skill. -.-

No, I think your IQ dropped 170 points today. There is an unlimited amount of runes in Runescape, because there are shops that sell them, also before Runecrafting - people obtained runes via monster drops. So while the price of runes will simply go up a bit, nothing else would change.

Honestly, think before you reply next time.
