Okay, I HATE the new dragon plate, for the following reasons;

 

Looks dumb, Chain with arms? Pfft. For how many millons more than chain it sucks.

 

Seen the stats against chain? Hardly worth it.

 

WAYYYYY over priced, No, I'm not rich, but personally, I'd buy 40 odd whips over dragon plate..

No point in looking at it for it's stats. Bandos or Barrows are easily better. Honestly the looks aren't that bad, what were you expecting? Got ideas of what they could do to make it look nice?

The plates on the shoulders could look like wings or dragons mouths. That's one.

I dont like any teams, for anything, as I dont watch any sports, AT ALL. I just find it so stupid for everyone to get up in arms over some morons running around a field playing with balls. Yeah, pretty 3rd grade.

They represent the wealth one has. I mean lets be honest, how many of us think that Party Hats/Santas/Masks look good? What about most Holiday Items, which prove a similar point? In honestly I think both are dumb, and in the fields of both effectiveness and looks, have much better alternatives.

 

 

 

Rares: IMO, Daigon'hai looks better. Even with junk trading, it costs waaaaaay less that the cheapest rare. Plus you can get it yourself as a drop. What about F2P? Runecrafter robes I would wear any day.

 

 

 

Holiday Items: Only good ones (wearable) that I think look better than alternatives are the scythe and rubber chicken. Others can only be used to complement an outfit, and just look dumb on its own.

 

 

 

Now if these items were buyable at general stores for 2gp, how many of us would bother? Not many. So if the Dragon platebody was, say, 300k, would any of us take it over Barrows? Not many.

 

 

 

So simply because the Plate is expensive and hard to obtain, does it have any value over alternatives.

full torags, dragonfire shield, whip, dragon boots, furry ammy ftw :geek:

However... dragon plate gives no negative range bonus from what I've seen. Sounds good for range tanking.

Should you be happy to hear that it dropped about 14mil within 4 day?

I have been wanting one ever since I could ware dragon (before they came out) I love everything about them. And the Dragon plate VS Dragon chain, plate so wins, and my main reason is for looks; plate bodys don't show half your stomach if your a girl!

I think that the OP had a slight lapse in memory and forgot that the metal wasn't Dragon. Come on, Dragon's been way outdated since Barrows showed up. It's nothing new. You either like the plate, or you don't buy it. Simple as that.

I love wasting cash on stuff that looks cool.

Jagex grossly underestimated the fact that people would be willing to pay for the degrade as long as it gave them better stats. Now you will have to play for hundreds of hours before you break even with Dragon/Bandos/Third Age, and even if you do, there is still a case to be made that the armor is worth the price because of the higher stats.

 

 

 

They should be THE SAME in up front price, with the degrade costing more in exchange for higher stats. There would actually be a reason to buy dragon then.

 

 

 

Bandos actually has something of a case, because of the prayer and str bonus, combined with lesser negative bonuses in a number of categories. Third Age Melee is somewhat competitive with barrows(but still weaker), but no matter how powerful it is, 130M is just too expensive to be practical.

 

 

 

But dragon has no case. It is marginally better than bandos in categories where they are both significantly weaker than barrows. Ther is no reason to wear dragon armor, not even with the new price of 11m.

 

 

 

There is some hope for dragon, though. With the price of the Dragon Chain body falling, maybe it will be more widely used among people who are killing NPC'S for training or profit ,and don't want to take the degrade loss of barrows. The few widely used pieces of Dragon(Med Helm, Plate Legs, Boots) are mostly used for that purpose. Maybe the Dragon Kite will be the most amazing Kite in history, or will have some kind of special effect.

 

 

 

Dragon is not completely dead, but it is very close. Untill then, im sticking with Torag's.

I doubt it, the armor would have to be for very weak monsters that didn't hit enough to justify barrow's 9k per hour cost, in which case bandos' offensive power would be better.
