August 2, 200520 yr As far as I can remember, you can't just talk to anyone through a picture. At least not any dead person. What would be the point of death then? For you to linger around in a pic? Nah. If so, don't you think Harry would have talked to his parents thru pics? I believe in the books, all we are told is that the former Hogwards Headmasters have their pictures up on walls, and the picture contains perhaps a part of their memory that will forever look after the castle. So Harry won't be able to speak to Dumbledore really, he will just be talking to the memory...I guess...of Dumbledore. yea, and it won't even be like the sentient memory of Tom Riddle through the old diary, unless Dumbledore also had a horcrux... but nah, the thing about the headmasters speaking through the pics always disturbed me abit, since it's quite hard to explain what the images in the frames really really are, unles they are, infact, horcruxes, and should therefore share traits/memory with the real (ded) headmaster...
August 2, 200520 yr 2. R.A.B. stands for Sirius Black's brother, so Harry will find the locket in Grimmald Place Thats about it really. Turn to and read page 116 (of the American version) of the OOTP..... Interesting. Isn't it? Argh i got aussie version. What does it say? They are emptying cabinets in Grimmauld Place and at the bottom of the page it says ...also a heacy locket that none of them could open Wow, very good find! So Harry has probably already touched Voldemorts horcrux :o wow never thought of it like that  but also what if that guy (forget his name :P ) that was stealing all of the things from grimauld place stole the locket and sold it? :o plot twist

August 3, 200520 yr I always knew the locket in Sirius's house was a horcrux after reading the 6th book, but ahhhhh! I forgot about Mundungus selling the locket!

August 3, 200520 yr Omg I just finished the book today hehe. Started 2 days ago. I predicted that Dumbledore was gonna die before even starting the book, but never thought Snape would kill him! The Horcruxes are veeeery interesting. I havnt given much thought to anything though. Btw, does JKR ever mention what date Ron's or Hermione's birthdays are?

August 3, 200520 yr Well I found this site, it has several good points though I myself beleive dumbledore is dead. http://www.dumbledoreisnotdead.com/ That site has been posted a couple of times before. While it does look into the matter in great detail, they tend to make things that are probably nothing into something big.I didnt read past page 2 of this topic..

August 4, 200520 yr Hey, sorry for totally off-topicness, but does anyone understand how spells work? This has boggled my mind forever. It really applies to anything, but I'll just use HP since this topic exists. I mean how do you make a spell? How is it so you flick your wand a certain way and say something and something happens? I don't get it...

But I think it'd be too difficult to explain, so, just ignore it and call it "magic"

I started wondering about how spells are made when it said Snape 'created' the spells from the book =\ Is it all in the words and flicks? :: Guess the Movie Contest Champion: pfilc23 ::
August 5, 200520 yr Well the words are practically latin. So my guess is it's simular to the game Eternal Darkness. Thoughout the game you get runes, some are verbs, some are nouns. A basic spell is 3 runes: the element, the verb, and the noun. You find scrolls that tell you what combinations form what spells, but before you usually have the runes before you find the scroll, therefore if you experiment you can get spells early. Example: "protect" and "area" makes a force field around you. 'Protect' + 'Self' makes a shield that follows you, "project" + "area" shoots out a wave in all directions. My point is, the spells in HP must work the same way. I imagine if you had a wand but no knowledge of spells you would discover a few just by chance. "Hmm, i need light... lets see here... light is lumin in latin...let's try "lumino!" no, that didnt work... "Lumins!" no, that failed... "Luminos!", Aha! It worked!"

The spell is lumos :P

By that logic everything and anything must be a spell, which I don't think to be true. GSW I won't settle for its "magic" :P

Granted, in creating your own spells there is magic theory involved to a degree I would assume, and you'd have to be very skilled...but its still just magic.
August 8, 200520 yr Well, I take Latin, and i could understand what the spells do from the word I don't take Latin and can understand what the spells do from the word.

August 8, 200520 yr Aquamenti? When's he use that? Sounds water related (obviously) Incendimenti is clearly the fire spell, i mean incinerate[/u]. Thats almost too easy
