These are franchises created by Disney. If you look at it from a "business" point of view, you'll understand how they do it. Just contrast Hilary Duff and Hannah Montana. Any band that's signed with a record company has been "designed". Doesn't make a band automatic [cabbage] because they're popular and franchised. If you've bought a CD or album by an artist, they've been franchised...So what? By the way, Hilary Duff is one of the richest young people in the world. I think both her and Miley Cyrus are doing pretty good. Yeah... umm no. Way to miss my point bud. There's a difference between bands being signed on because they are good and bands designed to be good. Death Cab for Cutie, Oasis, Killers, etc. are bands and they make music. January 7, 200917 yr I'd rather listen to Miley Cyrus and/or Jonas Brothers who have at least a sense of melody and vocals as opposed to some "sub-genres" I've heard, which are mainly composed of a medley of illegible flailing drum noises, screeching guitars and pig squealing vocalists. I hate both. On the subject of pig squealing/screamo though, I'm hearing of lots of people who like the instrumentals but only tolerate the screaming lately. Matt: You want that eh?
