Games you would like to play

What games would you like to play?

Personally I would like to see a WW2 shooter where you aren't playing a British/American/Russian soldier. How many countries fought in WW2? I'm pretty sure it was more than 6. I'd like to see a game where you play as a Norweigan soldier, and it follows the capture of Norway by the Nazis, the resistance movement in Norway, and then the re-taking of Norway by the help of the Allies.

Share, discuss, hate, rate. Go nuts.

Anybody here know "Fracture" the game by Lucasarts?

That was a good game at most, but I think the game should be redone as it HAD the elements to make it a great game, it was just executed a bit poorly. Maybe if a different company made it, it could be much better.

The online play in that game is mediocre, even though sometimes it can be fun. People just don't go online in that game very often.

I just think the game could be WAY better.

Realistic games that actually have emotion, and detail. If Shrek can have a message, Halo can, too.

Actual modern warfare. Not WW3 with lasers. Not Ubercops versus terrorists (that always have beards...) but the flurry of modern war. The Xbox game Delta Force: Black Hawk Down was pretty close in the style of how the game was played. But when an ally gets shot, you don't leave him for dead, millions of people don't actually die, etc.

Games should be becoming art soon. We need a videogame RENAISSANCE!

catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream

I think WWI from the Russian perspective would be at least interesting. Going into some missions with a non-functoning rifle, having to desperately scrounge ammunition from dead comrades, losing more battles than you win. It would certainly be a breathe of fresh air from the whole "never lose fightin' men!" thing, even if it played like a cat in a cardboard box. But who knows how the cat would play until we open up that box?

I'd like to see games where you can create the game. For example, you can make your own dungeons and scenarios, then play as a normal character to try to beat your own creations. Kind of like the RPG Maker, but with different genres of games (action, platforms, etc.).

I wouldn't count on it though. So many people hated on CoD:5 for being a WW2 game that the genre probably won't see another 'massive' title going for large popularity for a solid 5-10 years. I hihgly doubt FPS games revolving around WW2 will be made in such a timeframe. I'm just guessing though.

What game would I like to play? A game where PvP isn't determined or influenced by time, but purely the skill a player has. This means if you've spent 600 hours training a level it shouldn't affect the outcome of a pvp encounter. Only 'general' skill can be improved by time as the only exception.

PvP is, to me, the only thing worth doing in a game. Killing other people through a game is just so rewarding and a rush!

But that's getting too hopeful.

I'd like to see a FPS where it's replayable to the point more of just killing different people and learning map positions. Those are fun, but they don't get renewed, thus the 'excitement' goes away, but the fun remains. Though a FPS is with other people so it would have to be maps, guns, achievements, side-stuff, vehicles...etc that would have to have thousands of combinations, that are unique and aren't just copying each other and such, to succeed in such. But even then that's not replayable gameplay, that's basically hardcoding when you want to loop and make things 'changeable'.

For the second part you basically want a randomly generated online experience.

Buy a PS3 and buy LittleBigPlanet. Voila, you have your game.

I vote for Valve to make it. They can make anything awesome. Or Ubisoft.

EDIT:  800th post! \'

So don't let anyone tell you you're not worth the earth,

These streets are your streets, this turf is your turf,

Don't let anyone tell you that you've got to give in,

Cos you can make a difference, you can change everything,

Just let your dreams be your pilot, your imagination your fuel,

Tear up the book and write your own damn rules,

Use all that heart, hope and soul that you've got,

And the love and the rage that you feel in your gut,

And realise that the other world that you're always looking for,

Lies right here in front of us, just outside this door,

And it's up to you to go out there and paint the canvas,

After all, you were put on the earth to do this,

So shine your light so bright that all can see,

Take pride in being whoever the [bleep] you want to be.

Pretty much why I quit playing MMORPG's and shifted towards casual FPS gaming. I was looking for the ultimate pvp servers and medieval-type games similar to Diablo/Diablo2 where the main aspect was battling with other players & forming clans, etc... Up until a few years ago, such games didn't exist.

If anything, game companies in the past tried to make games more "friendly" and reduce PvP aspects to boring basics. RuneScape was a very challenging game with it's pk/nonPK mode before they removed that as well / replaced it with wilderness (although I hear that feature made a comeback recently)

Online FPS games have nothing else than PvP which can make it an attractive genre for people who prefer direct combat with real people rather than scripted, dumb NPC bots (like predictable monsters/bosses in World of Warcraft, etc.)

Oh I know, the markets been flooded with them for the past 7 or 8 years. It's disappointing that they've always been the same story lines. Nobody wanted to take risks. To be honest, I would like to play a game from the German perspective, though that would probably be a bit too "controversial" for big budget companies to put the time and effort (and money) into making.

Mmm, why not a conspiracy game? Maybe imagining the Nazis are still planning to kill all the Jews with the help of the Reptilians up in their moon base. Could throw a nifty twist.

That game would be surrounded by A LOT of controversy and protesting. :|

Uhm...yea? Except I want it to be decent and nost jut randomly generated. It has to have a purpose, and redfines itself every time, something that hasn't been released at all. Though Left 4 Dead & certain other titles are certainly on the right track for such games to exist in 2017 at least.

Pretty much why I quit playing MMORPG's and shifted towards casual FPS gaming. I think this is why I found my way to Combat Arms, then went to Left 4 Dead, Fallout series, CounterStrike...etc. You're not button smashing and guns are generally on the same level, without the need to be X level or X level increases Y weapons usefulness so you can totally own that noob. PvP games can't have it where a new player will get dominated by a long-time player because of level. In FPS you can log in, learn the maps, and then just totally dominate after a few hours. And then you still continue to work on the same skills but in different perspectives in the genre, which is why they are so popular in the first place.

I don't mind PvE but MMO's don't give you a challenge. Honestly pvp is so good because there's risk, and you're challenged. I know I enjoy fighting someone who can actually beat me than fighting someone who has no idea what they're doing at all. Sure it's fun the first couple of times, but seriously it gets boring, unless it's with a guild or something, lol.

But thats why so many PvP'ers hate PvE, there's no challenge. You can predict were things will be, and they're easily manipulated. No reward, no risk. When I fight an Ogre I want the possibility of dying in there, and not the possibility of killing 100+ without getting hurt much at all.

I have no idea what made companies become so carebearish or cater towards gamers so that they're mothering the players. Seriously was it all the younger players whining about losing their stuff/holding grudges till they become developers?

This is why DarkFall is going to be an excellent game. It's RTC w/ no levels, thus it basically is implying the same principles as a FPS in terms of combat. But it's still in CBT so it could be a fail, but I doubt it.

A WWII game to be released in the next or coming years will need the option to side with any of the dozens of countries affected/fought in WWII. They have to stop focusing solely on the combat only. Medical, economic, and politics can be put into such a game that it's a cross between an MMO and a FPs, but maintaining it's FPS roots with a FPS interface, controls, and the same perspectives/gameplay as a FPS for whatever role in the game you want to play. Whether it's several different campaigns, or it's all online to further the outcome of the war at some certain point, who knows. There's so much potential in war games that are derived from hgue wars like WWI & II. You don't need a story, it's all there. Add some dramatics, make it feel personal, and add in some non-repetitive, non-linear content that is replayable forever. It can't be that hard, especially now since most games we see coming out now have been in production for 2-3 years, which is when the rage, or anger of gamers not getting 'good' games and the 'sandbox' game complaints started to form. So really the future can't be that bad. We've had good games, but developers are only taking babysteps forward, while some like Blizzard are corrupting the minds of everyone!!!

@Lent, you know I'd play any game that they put any ideas or consult you for.

I want something like Pandemic. In a conquer the world sense. You plan out your battle then enter it to make sure bots don't screw up,and you can spawn wherever you control/under any class, like Battlefield.

Basically a mix of AoE,Battlefield,all FPS's,some RPG's,and IRL:The Game (you just lost)

Personally, my favorite "idea" of a game if well made, would be a realistic sandbox style civil war / revolutionary / paramilitary type game, something like IRA v British army, Colombian gorillas v Colombian government type thing.

I think it would for a much more interesting game and storyline than most shooter games out right now. There's even so many events to build a storyline around it would be easy. Use anything from internment without trial or the Bloody sunday massacre as the start, the cease fire at the end.

MGS4...I need a friggin PS3!

Hey look, there goes the point!

All this revolutionary games sound decent, but what about something completely different? Some kind of adventure/platformer with stuff just so wacky it's totally awesome. Something like a polar bear on a quest through a moon base run by dolphins (or mice if you're a real nerd) to rescue his alien stepbrother who's been frozen in methane ice and is destined to act as fuel for the dolphin mice's planetary death ray. And all the enemies are urban legends, like ghosts and Bloody Mary and hook-handed men, bizarrely coupled with fluffy bunnies wielding knives and kung-fu lobsters. And the bear has fire breath.

Actually, that would be pretty cool.

That too sounds fun.

Or maybe a game about Albi the racist dragon?

I think there should be a game as insane and serious as the internet. Or based on the internet. Mudkips walking around, being cuddled, people having tiny eyes and mouths and noses, and at the end of a level you get to play a slowpoke all dressed for war, but wondering why the hell everyone is already dead.

catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream

i wanna play an FPS that doesn't have a linear story, where how you play and the choices you make determine the outcomes

e.g. If you choose to attack a base head on the enemy is alert so they act quick and kill most of your squad, your commanders are angry with you so they just dump you in the middle of a battlezone and give you hardly any help or You choose to flank the base you take the enemy by surprise so all of your squad survives and the base is captured quickly so your commanders decide to promote you, in the next fight you have your entire squad with constant radio help

Your allies shouldn't be pushovers, characters that aren't important to the story shouldn't all die after the first encounter, and i think the singleplayer should be really long instead of the usual "finish in a day" singleplayer, if it was a WW2 shooter then every battle should be included instead of the favorites that are normally chosen

Try Warhammer Online, if you have the time you'll get osme of the best PVP MMORPGS have atm :D

(Sadly, I don't have the time for it, so I wasted 50 euros on a game I won't play anymore :-#)
