3PointMan
Which one should I get to 80? I know that 80 Smithing would look cool as a stat, but so would Cons, and it would benefit my house. Which one should I get? Don't say both either. http://i612.photobucket.com/albums/tt206/samtheninja/Tags/FEARLESStag.jpg http://i787.photobucket.com/albums/yy156/song4thedeaf/stuff.png what i'm doing now: https://linktr.ee/student1

pureprayer
Smithing its cool to look at it and say, wow i have 80 smithing. Pureprayer, you're awesome.
Orly_Owl
Smithing is more useful, somehow anyway. For many games and stuff. For construction, all you really need in your house is a portal chamber, optional 'needs' would be a gilded altar and the best lecturns.
AlexDT
80 Construction is useful if you want a... Small Orrery, or if you're far more patient, a Greater Magic Cage. But apart from that Construction is only really useful if you're a masochist when it comes to money. Depends entirely on how nice you want your humble abode to look. To be honest, I'd rather have 26 sparkling rooms than the ability to smith an adamant item nobody ever uses. Guess it'd be useful if you do a lot of Stealing Creation, though. pinguimmaiden
Both are nice skills. But i prefer construction, a nice looking house is cooler to have

The Dark Lord
Get 80 construction if your house sucks and you want a good one. It'll cost millions more than smithing if you want to add nice stuff to your house to show off or use. SWAG Mayn U wanna be like me but U can't be me cuz U ain't got ma swagga on. Cooldude3910
Get 80 smith so you can have lv 5 stuff at sc so u can get pts and buy sc hammrs so you can get 80 con to. \ Jk. I would get 80 construction because a cooler house is better than being able to make some addy items.
CowsEatFood
80 construction. Since you can't gather lvl 5 stuff from sc, I don't think it'd be much use to get 80 smith (unless you just take lvl 5 clay from base, make a dagger, and go 1item. Even then it wouldn't be worth it much). Construction is a lot more fun to have also :P.

ultimatballr
After 50 I see no use in Con. I have the level for a portal room and still never use it. I can use other peoples guilded alters.. so no need for 75. (oak alter recharges pray points just as well as any) At least with 80 smithing you can GAIN money, albeit smithing useless items but I am sure there is some kind of monetary gain in there. Also you can cut the costs of barrow's repair. Who doesn't want cheaper barrow repairs? Who is gonna see your house? If you throw a lot of parties, sure go for 80 con.. if not why bother. Apparently, my signature was to big.
The_dmt1234
both are slow and costly, but construction will have near no return no matter how you train it, with smithing if you make say iron knives you'll get a lot of your money back with iron plates youll get about 30% of your money back at the cost of about 4.5gp per exp minus the plates. with mith plates you'll about 60% of you money back at about 12gp per exp before the plates, apparently mith bolts have a low cost but can be hard to sell... this is from someone who has 80 smithing ]
The_dmt1234
oh yeah those figures are WITH using the sc hammers, 3 an hour = 96k exp overall, so use them ]

Sir_Kurity
Construction, Smithing can't make profit anymore, and you don't really have anything to show for with smithing except for stealing creation. Construction lets you show off a nice shiny home that you can invite all your friends in and they can all say how rich and lucky you are  Plus, construction gets loads of bank space saving additions like cape racks, wardrobes, bookshelves. As well as lecturns, gilded altars and telescopes. Construction is actually useful, smithing is not. O.O

It's faster to use your own house when Praying. This is true. And I agree with what you and Comp say alot of the time about being efficient. I like to maximize my output with the time I have to play. However, the loss of about 75k exp/hour (a great deal I will agree) is nothing to me when we are talking about 200k+ exp/hour anyway. This is just personal preference. Also, I do not deal with the hassle of relighting my own burners and I don't spend money on a skill I deem useless (TO ME!) Again this is personal preference. Just like it is going to have to be to the OP. Which do you like better? Which will be more useful to you? I would go with smithing myself since I repair barrow armor a lot and the lowered cost is beneficial to me. I don't use my house at all, aside from an occasional tele to recharge prayer or tele to exit and enter someone else house. No one ever enters my house so I have no use for high con. (Of course when I finish all my goals and want to get 80+ all stats that's when the con levels come  ) Apparently, my signature was to big. SirHartlar
There isn't anything amazingly useful from either skill at 80 that you can't have at your levels so it is really down to personal preference.
