Zierro
I think walking is one of the most overlooked elements in our lives when it comes to leisure or relaxation. Taking walks with friends naturally forces you to converse, you are exposed to a wider range of stimuli, it's good exercise and you get sun exposure, plus I realized that it clears my head making it easier to think. I think walking is like an active form of meditation. I've had a lot of epiphanies in my life all because of walking. :) So anyone have any experiences or opinions about walking? tripsis
I agree, I think it's a wonderful form of meditation. I go for a walk every day and I particularly enjoy night/evening walks. Of course I usually spend more time looking up at the stars than where I'm going, which can be problematic  But walking definitely gives me a lot of time to myself to think.. I love it. - 99 fletching | 99 thieving | 99 construction | 99 herblore | 99 smithing | 99 woodcutting - - 99 runecrafting - 99 prayer - 125 combat - 95 farming - - Blog - DeviantART - Book Reviews & Blog

Zierro
Of course I usually spend more time looking up at the stars than where I'm going, which can be problematic  Oh yeah, that's another thing I forgot. When I'm strolling along and I look up, I'm reminded about all the weird things of life. It's basically like staring at infinity. It makes me feel insignificant and fascinated at the same time. Clouds and stars are some the most aesthetically appealing things I can think of too.

Guest
I walk to help think all the time, walking in circles. Pacing, in other words. It really helps me think.
Lenticular_J
Thought it was perambulation? Walking's aight. I prefer wandering, though. catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream
Zierro
Thought it was perambulation? Walking's aight. I prefer wandering, though. Yeah, you're right. Perambulation is walking for the sake of leisure while ambulation is walking to get from point A to point B. This calls for a title change. ;)
Wongtong
I had to look up what Perambulation meant. :( I like walking in general, but a problem I have is walking with someone who is really awkward to talk to. Here's an example situation of how I avoid this: I'm walking with Awkward Person and Friend. Friend has to go to another path, leaving me and Awkward Person to walk together. I slow down and pretend to tie my shoes or look through my bag and let Awkward Person walk ahead of me. I'm rude >_> 8,180WONGTONG IS THE BEST AND IS MORE SUPERIOR THAN ME#1 Wongtong stalker.Im looking for some No Limit soldiers!
Georgelemmons
Walking is awsome, and I love it. It's very peaceful, and lets me relax. I do most of my thinking when running, though. :P Walking lets me slow down and enjoy it, so I don't have to think. I don't have my P's yet (and won't get them till May), I hate bikes, and my city isn't big enough to have a good public transportation system, so I walk a fair bit. Generally not for more than 5km's at a time though. Cool.
l0rd
Don't care for walking. I think hiking and mountain biking are like walking on cocaine; much more pleasurable. [iNSERT "I R EATIN TEH SHIX ATM" BILL COSBY SIGNATURE GIF HERE, LOL]

Th3_Crusader
I like it, but around this area it's pretty scary walking around without someone. No matter what time it is.
ThurinEthir
Walking in a forest at night is relaxing. I prefer sitting at the coast, watching the waves, though, especially at sunset. Nom
[hide=These quotes, they are too big]I take manly walks. As in ten miles through wilderness with a tent and some food. You take food? Which they use to beat the bears to death. Exactly![/hide] Unfortunately bears stay away from me. They are repelled by my tangible aura of masculinity. Even pop-tarts' effectiveness as a ranged weapon is wasted when enemies flee in terror long before they enter my sights. Therefore, I revert to the Chef Boyardee. And eat it straight from the can. With my hands. It is a poor substitute for bear-slaying, but one must adapt.
Lateralus
I've done the Tour Du Mont Blanc a few times, and nothing has ever cleared my head so well. For those who don't know, the tour is a walk around Mont Blanc, which is the highest mountain in Europe, and the route goes through France, Italy and Switzerland covering a distance of around 170km. This year I'll be doing a walk around the Matterhorn in Switzerland, which I hope will be as rewarding. La lune ne garde aucune rancune.
