Beat FF1 on my gameboy version for the 4th time. Also trying FFX, so far I don't hate it. Sometimes they sound like idiots in intense conversations. You can tell they just said everything alone at one time.

Tidus annoyed the hell out of me from that first movie. :wall:

And: How do you pronounce Tidus, I've heard Tie-dus (what I say) and Tee-dus...

Yeah...he's an odd one. I pronounce it tide-us, cause, well, tide=water, plays blitzball and lived in Zanarkand, city filled with water.

I always pronounced it Tide-Us until a friend told me it was Teed-Us, so now I use both.

I'm collecting all the materia and equipment in FF7. I have like 90% of it. I still have to max out my characters and materia though.

They pronunce it Teed-us in kingdom hearts. I still call him Tide-us. I'm at Yunalesca now. She got lucky with a curaga the last time while Yuna was confused. I went and got some candles of life and now Tidus has zombie proof, Yuna has zombie ward, and Auron is usually my dedicated zombie character to survive mega death.

Haha, that's been something I've been debating. I kinda wanted to do 9 but my gf's brother is borrowing it and I don't really feel like rushing through the game just to get Excalibur 2. I don't want to do 8 because of the messed up rules for the card game. So I guess that leaves 10. But now that I think of it... the butterfly catching... -.-

I've never played final fantasy but I've heard good things about it. What's a good game to start with?

FFVI, FFX, or FFVII can be a good one to start with. If you have a psp i'd recommend starting with Crisis core though. (FFV was good for me but not many people seem to like it)

Speaking of FFX I fully upgraded the weapons for Tidus and Yuna yesterday. Then I started out in besaid and walked across Spira with capture weapons. I stopped in Macalania (wood) and haven't started back up today. I haven't set foot inside of sin yet but I will as soon as Auron has his weapon fully powered. Other then that i'm seeing butterflies and lightening strikes in my sleep as I prepare for those two tasks.

Good thing you reminded me of the lightning. I was probably gonna play 10 if it wasn't for you mentioning that. :P

I'd recommend 6, 7, 9, or maybe even 1. Whatever you do, don't play 8 first. That one is a lot different than all the other numbered games, so you wouldn't really be getting a true taste of what Final Fantasy is about.

IX isn't exactly identical to the rest of the series either. and NP about the lightening, glad I could help. I might just skip it altogether this time, I never really use Lulu.

No, don't play FFX first. I did, and I didn't understand what was going on at all. There is no intro, its like starting in the middle of the game... been afraid to play a FF game since..

None of the FF games are the same story (excluding the rare sequel) so we were all just as lost as you. Usually in any FF game you are thrown into a situation you really don't understand and you learn more as you go along. Thinking about it now in most FF games you do start in the middle of the game.

I played FFX first, I started to understand it around Besaid, maybe a bit after, which is a bit into the game. The one thing I still don't uderstand is: Who's going on about the Jecht Cup thing, while you're running to the stadium, someone? Or just some random person?

It says the guys name. "and I says to my self, Zanar,..." I'm not sure i'm spelling that right but that's his name, I guess he is the Blitz sports announcer in Zanarkand.

Haven't heard it in ages, it just hit me then when I was talking about the game (I just lost :wall: ), that'd make sense, thanks.

8 is definitely different, but that's kinda why I like it so much. I really like the graphics style in it, as well as the junction system (though I didn't really understand how to use it until my third play-through  ). I'd say that X is a great game to start on, though. It won't completely turn off people who want more realistic graphics, plus the story as well as the battle system are great and, compared to some of the other FF's, easy to understand.

9! I <3:<3:<3:<3:<3:<3:<3: it!!!!! And you should too. Number one is fine, but obviously crappier graphics and it's one of those games where the main characters don't talk. I don't recommend the new version of FF3...that's reeeally confusing. *Remembers trying to figure out how job system works*

It can't be any worse than previous games with a job system. Or future games, something like that. :?

It is. Lrn2putintutorialSquareEnix. Anyways, you gain jobs randomly (okay, not "Randomly" but without being alerted) and you have no idea what they do.

Yeah sounds like any other game with a job system...

Started playing Blitzball yesterday. I now have all of Wakka's overdrives but the dang sigil won't appear as a prize.

I hate tutorials. Well, optional tutorials never hurt though. I just like finding out what to do on my own when I first start a game.

In FF7 I've been training in the Sunken Gelnika and morphing enemies into stat sources. Cloud's level 80 now. This game takes so much longer to level up than 12 did, but at least the weapons were pretty easy.

I love morphing those heavy tanks in Gongaga to power source, just to make sure every hit, especially Omnislash, would deal 9999 damage ::'

Anyone here find Kalm's music relaxing? (no pun intended).

I've been trying to beat Emerald Weapon and that bastard keeps owning me. I W-Summon KotR and mime it but I'm always stuck having to use Megalixers and break the chain because his eyes constantly attack me.

I thought it was boring, but I suppose it fits the mood of the town then.
