Bloodkay
I really do hope they don't change too many things in the movie. It'd really compliment the graphic novel to see it as-is, though in motion picture. The movie has already received a rating of R in many places, so why not fully replicate the graphic novel into a movie? I'd love to see those intense scenes. But whatever. My opinion will be complete when I see it, and who knows... I've seen good adaptions to novels through films, though the storyline may or may not follow the novel. Taking a Playstation 3 break. Baconxl
I'm not much of a superhero man, but for some reason I always go to the cinema to watch them. :') This one seems to be more serious and the Graphic Novel is suposed to be very good. I'm going to see it on saturday, digital showing. I hope it's got something to laugh in it, not too much of that serious stuff. But I'm afraid that there won't be much to laugh.Well, it all depends on your kind of humour but over all the novel/movie is pretty serious. It basically deals with the moral issues related to superhero vigilantism. I'm really curious to see how they translate Rorschach and The Comedian to the movie though, I could see them chickening out on stuff like Rorschach's prison scenes and The Comedian's last actions in Vietnam. Pretty sure I saw a preview that showed that bar scene. Also saw pictures of Rorschach (Walter) in prison so hopefully they won't. It's also supposed to be quite a long movie because the director wanted to give the book justice so I think they're going to manage to fit mostly everything in. Serpent Eye
I just got home from screening this movie, and let me tell you, it's by far the coolest movie of the year so far! Hot, hot, hot. I'm definently going to watch it again! Edit: I've just been reading some of the previous posts - I won't ruin it for anyone, but the film definently lives up to it's R-rating. I haven't read the comics myself, so I'm not sure what scenes they translated from the comic to the screen, but they didn't really shy away from contraversial stuff. Baconxl
The comic is decently graphic, I'm glad they didn't leave much of that out.
Mr_Adam
Yer, Snyder was saying how WB wanted him to make it PG-13. But he pointed out that it truly is a graphic novel (<- Pun :P ). The Comedian's 'Nam scene is still there (the scar origin), Snyder mentioned in his bit about why it couldn't be PG-13.
Lenticular_J
Looks cool. I might check it out this weekend. I should read it, too. Not much else to say besides it looking like a very interesting take on the Cold War. catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream

BabyPunchers
My Chemical Romance covered Bob Dylan's Desolation Row for this movie. Epic song, I think it's the credit song. Epic win. \ Thanks to all those who have messaged me concerning a revamp of my Range-Slayer guide. Because of you all I will start rewriting it asap.[/color] Formerly RobinHoodie. Epic win. \ I just listened to the song. It's better than most of their pop-punk-metal crap, but it's nothing to Dylan. I don't even think that it sounds like a good selection for what I've seen so far of the movie, but I guess it would be better than the original. I don't like My Chemical Romance, though. I used to like one or two of their songs, but they've gotten boring and stale to me, I guess. I really wanna see this, though. But it's sold out all weekend. WHAT. catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream
Mr_Adam
I watched the Watchmen. It was very good, but as people said, there wasn't much character development at all. It was also weird because I knew what was happening and what was going to happen. Not perfect, but not a crappy version for sure. I doubt it will be a gigantic hit, but it has enough reputation and fan service and It was also very over violenced. The book is violent, but this really took advantage of that to make it more exciting, I presume. Like, bones being broken through skin, and people graphically exploding. Also (and I'll hide it, someone was looking forward to it) [hide=DEATH (SPOILER)]They didn't slit tubby's throat. Instead, they cut his arms off.[/hide] Major con was I forgot to pee before, and didn't wanna leave. I felt like I was going to cry or pee myself by the end. So I have no idea if there's any credits footage. :( Good film, better if you've read the book, very long if you haven't. No Squid

So I have no idea if there's any credits footage. :( This. Longest piss of my life. But no, there was no credit footage. I liked the movie a lot honestly. I came in with decently low expectations as to not be disappointed but I was really satisfied with the outcome. The actors, though obscure, did a good job. Although there was a lack of character development, they really didn't leave out much from the book, I think it did it justice. [hide=About the death thing above]It made more sense to cut his arms off. Before they complained about him being in the way so they slit his throat but he was still in the say so...Cutting his arms off actually removed the obstacle.[/hide]
Zonorhc
I didn't like how they wasted screen time on an unnecessarily long sex scene outside of an actual porno. Harakiri
I just came back from the theater with only two words to describe this movie: [bleep]ING AWESOME! It was a feat people said could never be done. Creating a movie out of one of the deepest pieces of fiction ever produced. But Zach Snyder has done it and created one of my all time favorite movies. Reviews for it have been so mixed, that before I saw it, I did not know who to believe. So, I said "Screw it, I'll wait and see". And boy did a see something unsurpassed in cinema. First of all, the amazing cg animations looked so real. Never has a CG glowing blue dong looked as real as in this movie. Second of all, the action scenes were beyond brutal. Arms getting cut off by a buzz saw anyone? Third of all, the ending. It was different from the original ending of the comic, which might piss people off, but it actually totally worked. It fit in the frame with the alien invasion of the comic. Now lets get to the one bad thing, that never really made a difference. The acting was a bit sketchy at times, they were acting like they were on a stage, which I only noticed in two scenes. Other than that, it was an amazing line up of people I have never heard of. Brutality, amazing action, the redone story. Whats not to like about the best superhero movie of all time? YES I AM SAYING IT! Anyone who has not seen this movie should run over and see it. If you've never read the comic, you'll probably be lost, but this movie will still provide enough thrills and dark comedy to keep you glued to your seat. 10/10 This is my review from my blog, but I do think it is one of the greatest *insert somthing* to movie adaptions ever. Baconxl
Well a lot of them were Broadway actors so it would make sense for them to act like that I suppose. The ending really wasn't all that different, it had the same effect and was executed pretty similarly.
Zonorhc
The movie is not very good if you hadn't already read the book. Those who have read it will notice bits missing, bits added and bits changed, but overall, it's nothing special. It would have worked better if it hadn't been so godawfully long. It would have been better to turn it into a TV miniseries, with episodes corresponding with chapters. How2PK
I saw it yesterday. I wasn't too impressed. It's too big for me. I prefer to see things less big, complex and high flown. This movie just wants too much. I also got pretty sick of that naked blue dude and his pompous talk. The movie was somewhat entertaining, but nothing more than that. I haven't read the comic book by the way, and I don't intend to do it either. Signature by Maurice SendakWhen the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore! i_love_burritos
I haven't read the comic book by the way, and I don't intend to do it either. May I ask why ? Well, why ? The Graphic Novel is much more bearable in terms of its concept. Anyway, I hear in the Watchmen movie, the "impotence" scene is good.
How2PK
I haven't read the comic book by the way, and I don't intend to do it either. May I ask why ? Well, why ? Because 1. I am not smart enough, 2. I didn't like the style, 3. the question that the movie raises just doesn't interest me (how far can you go to reach Utopia, at least that is what I got out of it) and 4. I'm not from the big city. I wonder what the comic book has got to add that makes it worth reading for me. Signature by Maurice SendakWhen the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore! Jaziek
Went to see it yesterday. The first few minutes with Bob Dylan playing were beautiful. Theres no other word for it. I LOVED the entire thing, I dont care if it wasnt 100% faithful to the book, it was fantastic in its own right, the action scenes were well done, the character development was some of the best I've ever seen in a single movie timespan, and the sountrack is up there for my favourite of all time. 10/10 no doubt. Baconxl
It was pretty faithful to the book honestly. The book is really freaking extensive so you cannot expect the movie to go as in-depth as people hoped it would, it was long enough as is. I could see it being a little over-the-top if you hadn't read the book but wasn't necessary to enjoy it.
