Pawn
To me a noob is an annoying player, sort of like a troll. I am currently F2P and lvl 103 F2P, I get lots of attention. I usually wear my Red H'ween Mask, Ammy of Str (t), Wizzy G robes. So I always get a bunch of people trying to sell me stuff, ask for money, ask for my account, beg, won't leave me alone, follow me non stop. Today this one noob even said "I will only go away if you give me 3K". Honestly, I just ran into the wild he followed and I teleported back to Varrok, hope he died by a rev btw. Now I know I am not the best of the best, or the richest guy ever. But it is just so god damn annoying to deal with this. I don't want to turn off private chart/public chat/trade because there are people with legitimate needs. I love helping people with quests etc. but I just hate beggers. Just because I am lvl 103, people think I am supposedly loaded, tbh I got like 200K left in the bank. I remember when I was starting out, I never begged. I remember exactly what I did for cash. I mined and mined and mined till my pick axe was dull. I had black (g) by the time I was lvl 17, and Addy (g) by the time I was lvl 40. So why can't they do that? In b4 "turn p2p" and flame. compfreak847
This sounds like a lot of 'tooting your own horn', but I guess that's to be expected :P Idea #1: If you don't want to show off and attract beggars, WHY ARE YOU WEARING A MASK AND (G) ROBES!@?!??? Pawn
I like my mask way to much to take it off. Ignore list does not help, they are still following you. Why should I be forced to take it off, and I am getting members soon again.

sees_all1
I hate them too... but you know how to stop them from following you? You quit wearing noob magnets, and be polite as possible. For some reason, the internet knows no politeness, and when it encounters it, finds it puzzling. Oh, and fun areas - Dark Wizards south of Varrock, The varrock sewer, The hobgoblin mine, the lessers and greators... the stronghold of security... I could go on and on. But they won't last long in those areas, and you can go back to enjoy being a stuck up choob. 99 dungeoneering achieved, thanks to everyone that celebrated with me! ♪♪ Don't interrupt me as I struggle to complete this thoughtHave some respect for someone more forgetful than yourself ♪♪♪♪ And I'm not doneAnd I won't be till my head falls off ♪♪

Yeah, thinking about, I haven't seen a beggar in pay to play for awhile... I had one lv 75 in P2P few days back: "comon man, help a bro out. gimme 10k" "Comon its just 10k" "plz/plx" every 5 seconds All i was wearing was a whip, defender, torso and my gold cw legs. honestly thats nothing compaired to what other players wore around there. :| point is most you can do is ignore them or give them advice on earming money. hell a full invent of yews is roughly 14k now. get 60 woodcutting and you have no problems. :wall: Popoto.~<

Tishala
Sorry, BTTB333 It is annoying and frustrating. ALERT! Typical insulting blaming response to follow: You won't get much support here, because as you can see from the majority of responses it's all YOUR fault! You go to the wrong places, You wear the wrong things, It's the internet get over it, use the ignore list, You are not a member, or Your rant is wrong. Horse hocky all of it! /moronic response Yeah, yeah, whatever... I'm sure that folks don't necessarily mean to come across as self-righteous [puncture]s but don't seem to recognize when they do. The bottom line is that no one can control anyone's behavior but their own. So, where you go, what you wear, P2P or F2P has absolutely nothing to do with how others behave. I salute your efforts to maintain courtesy and politeness. Hang in there!
Marksman0010
Again like everyone else you just stay in the wrong places, don't spend more that necessary time in the g.e and go to places noobs don't even know of or don't stand a chance against the npc's I have never made but one prayer to God, a very short one: 'O Lord, make my enemies ridiculous.' Smapla
you're like a f2p version of me... woot i suggest wearing even stranger and harder-to-get clothing (whatever is f2p and... unusual...). then simply carry out your routine and don't talk to anyone. see how many people you can attract. i turn it into a sport to waste their time and cause them just as much annoyance as they used to cause me. i know it's sort of a placebo effect now that i've said that really, it's all just in your head, but for me it works. if you just walk around pretending to have your chat off, or some arrogant high level who doesn't talk to newbies, they'll stop a lot sooner than if they know that they are effecting you in any way. alternatively, though i've not tested it, i'd think that if they ask you where you got anything, or for any advice, you could demand 3k from them, many times, so that all the others see, and are less likely to waste their time. runescape really needs an equivalent to just slamming your fist into someone's face. ps. don't play dumb, or overly newbish, they either follow you around believing you're an idiot, and taunting you, or see it as an encouragement to keep behaving that way, since it did exactly what they want, got a reaction out of you. edit: and yeah, i know right? when i started, i knew i was new, and didn't act like the world was there to serve me. i was polite to people (though partly because i was intimidated by them... for a while i thought you could be attacked by anyone... because i thought the highway man was a player), i didn't ask people for stuff, i mined that octagonal mine and trekked all over the place making armour and selling it. none of my friends did that [acted badly etc] either... Zaaps1
I assure you it's all what you wear, especially the rare. I used to wear Halloween masks and Santas all the time and I'd always been in a similar situation. But then I decided the money was better off in skills, so that's where I invested it instead. Now when I recently became f2p again, I kept that 84-ish mil I had as cash for skills I plan to raise. The great side-effect? I've yet to encounter an annoying noob. EDIT: @ Lep, Granite Plate isn't that bad. Sure Barrows is galaxies ahead but Granite provides great bonuses for its cost and you don't need 70 defense. ~It's Super Effective! 8112204
Having a bunch of people following you won't affect you in any way. Let them follow long enough and they get bored, and maybe find the brains to know that begging wastes time. Its too bad that some people do give money to beggars which encourages them...
