Faux
I like Russel Peters. But his routine is becoming too obvious. Same Chinese/Indian racist stuff over and over. Funny, but getting tired of it. There's also that old comedian. Can't remember his name, but he focuses on political stuff IIRC. He says obvious stuff and people laugh. Never got it. :: Guess the Movie Contest Champion: pfilc23 ::
jemathonical
I think Dane Cook is pretty funny, just because he does go all out on his stand up and really gets into it. I saw a few videos of a ranga named CarrotTop and didn't laugh. I think he is a loser ^Sir Jem 05-The Bunny Drinking Blog?^ Click it!
Nero
To be honest, all of them. I have yet to laugh at a joke told by a stand-up comedian. I enjoy witty/sarcastic humour; not people complaining about their marriages or how their car broke down. Vienna Raszyn Warsaw Klushino

assassin_696
And whoever said Dara O'Briain was overrated - You're just plain wrong. Barely anybody has seen his live stuff, and just goes off mock the week. His stand up is infinitely better than mock the week. His audience involvement goes beyond any other comic I've seen. Very much agree, I've seen two Dara O'Briain stand up DVD's and his audience interaction is just fantastic. He's got such a quick wit. I think it's often a real test of comedic ability to see how comics can handle new situations night on night. For this I think Russell Brand and Dara O'Briain come out very well, the amount of audience interaction makes every show very unique and often the DVD's don't reflect the best of them. Zierro
Beside the comics already mentioned, I find a lot of women comics to be pretty bad and usually especially vulgar. I don't know what it is, but I have yet to see a good female comedian. I guess there just aren't that many of them. On a happier note, new favorite comedian: *Warning: it is economics humor some of which needs economics knowledge to get.* A good one is Kathleen Madigan. And to Zieero on page 1, you do know that doesn't actually mean that? But back in the day it was polite to say. Just throwin that out there; my Atheist friends usually think it's religious propaganda. :s Of course, but I think there are better ways to be polite about something without bringing god into it. And I don't even know why that would be considered polite anyways. :?
Giordano
If Dane Cook didn't yell half the time he'll be somewhat of a better quality. It's like he turns CAPS ON off and on off and on off and on...ugh. :wall: @Nadril: Do you hate everything popular? "The cry of the poor is not always just, but if you never hear it you'll never know what justice is." pryomancer
I used to like Dane Cook, not anymore though, I've realised how bad he actually is. Stand up comedy is a passion of mine, I love watching a good stand up comedian like Billy Connolley at work, seeing the crowd hanging on his every word. I posted earlier, but I don't care I'll post it again: Andrew Dice Clay, he's the worst comedian on the planet, without a shadow of a doubt. Lenin64
I think a lot of female comedians just try and do the whole "look at me I'm a woman yet I'm crass and crude like a man!" routine. Like Kathy Griffin. I never got the whole "my gays" thing, either. Command the Murderous Chalices! grundledib
Jimmy Carr and Frankie Boyle are both very similar in style, and equally unfunny. The one liners are amusing for a couple of minutes, but they are CONSTANT and get more than a little boring after a while. I've never understood Peter Kay or mini-Kay (Manford)... I also hate Bernard Manning/ Jim Davidson/ Al Murray with a passion - mindless racism and distinct lack of wit does not a good comedian make. Think I'll wade into the Bill Hicks debate here... He wasn't the funniest comedian the world has ever seen, but was incredibly important as he raised a huge number of very thought provoking and serious political points yet still managed to hide them behind a brilliant wit that would keep you almost in hysterics till the end of a show, when you had time to think about the points he made and realise what half the jokes were about... 1_man_army
Jimmy Carr and Frankie Boyle are both very similar in style, and equally unfunny. The test of Frankie Boyle's hilarity is how often he makes other comedians crack up at his jokes. It happens, at the very least, once an episode on Mock the Week. He who learns must suffer, and, even in our sleep, pain that cannot forget falls drop by drop upon the heart, and in our own despair, against our will, comes wisdom to us by the awful grace of God. - Aeschylus (525 BC - 456 BC)
