RAGE

A little over a month ago I broke my leg snowboarding. It couldn't have come in a worse time of my life...My senior year in high school, a year where things have been better than ever. Having a broken leg is killing me from the inside out...It's put a damper on my sex/social life, and even though i still go out all the time, I can't help but feel like my friends are being extremely nice by putting up with me and the fact that I can't walk/do everyday things. I used to exercise daily...fitness and sports are a huge part of my life. I have wayy too much energy built up in me.

 

 

 

So now...here I am...unable to do hardly anything without the help of others, unable to workout, unable to socialize without feeling half retarted for not being able to walk...What has resulted from this is a rage like i've never experienced...

 

 

 

I constantly get urges to punch things and throw things...I just want to scream sometimes...I get angered WAYYY to easily, I can't even get on runescape without yelling at almost everything and everyone...my friends go snowboarding everyday after school and i have to sit at home and do nothing.

 

 

 

I don't know what to do...I have another month or so on crutches and then another ~2 months of rehab/limping...

 

 

 

Have any of you experienced anger like this?

 

 

 

(don't get me wrong, i'm NOT depressed, i'm angry about the whole situation and the fact that i'm wasting my senior year...)

Nah, I never really get too mad. Or, if I do, I'm quick to feel really sorry if I blew up at anybody, or just to forget about it. Really bad situation there, though. I broke my wrist back a while ago, it sucked bad. And I was a loser!

 

 

 

At least you're not (still?) in a wheelchair, though. That'd be much, much worse.

I can't do any physical activity or anything to get rid of my energy...what do u suggest?

 

Can you do anything with your upper body?

 

 

 

yeah i lift 2-3 times a week with my upper body...or try to...but its not the same at all, I'm used to swimming and running alot, and i can't lift as efficiently with a broken leg.

no way...never used a wheel chair, you'd have to be extremely lazy to use one because of a broken leg...

 

 

 

and yeah i broke my wrist sophmore year...that was fun too, but not as bad as this :thumbdown:

Eh, if your leg's broken bad enough, I guess. I'd hate one, I live up a flight of stairs.

 

 

 

You could... Get really good at ping-pong. Well, there really aren't tons of choices. Pull-ups are about the only thing not too hampered by your (lack of a) leg(s). Could invent a new leaning on the wall style of boxing.

 

 

 

Or kites. You can still do kites.

 

 

 

Are their college classes that deal with kites? Hot air ballooning? Dinosaur defense? Massively complex domino machines?

Well you can scream but into a pillow or punch like a temperpedic(sp?) pillow so no one can hear it or u wont rip it or anything. Sometimes when I have a bad day I come home and just like punch my pillow and Sometimes i scream into it if my day was bad enough. Then usually I just walk around for 5-10 minutes in my room and I'm fine. I know it seems kinda like I have anger issues, but I don't. Somedays I just have horrible days and I need to let my stress out in someway lol. It works ::'

I actually have an idea that might work

 

 

 

a. buy a bunch of nice fluffy stuffed animals

 

 

 

b. buy/borrow a semiautomatic rifle or pistol

 

 

 

c. take item a and b into yard and set up a proper firing range for safety

 

 

 

d. use item b to decimate item a while a camera is on

 

 

 

e. load video onto youtube

 

 

 

hope that helps, no Im not joking, that might work quite well.

You can still go swimming by using your arms only... but I guess it sucks to have a broken leg..

 

 

 

I imagined being blind or deaf once... (not good -.-).. but I was happy that I was neither... otherwise I would've gone crazy.. Atleast you're not blind!

 

This is a good point.

 

I'm very thankful that I am neither deaf or blind.

 

I do not mean to sound like things can't get any worse, I was simply saying that things could be better

cannibalism has a good idea. Either buy a rifle or pellet gun and just go shoot things like pesky squirrels and tin cans.

 

Or if your realy wanting a chalenge, the Acorn that the squirrel's holding in its mouth. >:3

Perhaps you were so active and busy with activities and friends to disguise pre-existing life issues. Now that you're isolated and unable to engage in the favoured decoys you're left facing your unresolved issues. Work them out while you have time on your own. Being busy enough to forget about them can only last for so long.

Do it. Punch things (preferably pillows/soft objects). Screaming into the same objects you're punching also helps. After a while you end up feeling sheepish for yelling at/punching pillows, so you won't feel the need to do that anymore.
