I am debating which weapon will be more useful for training attack. Dragon scimitar is very fast hits moderate but has almost no attack bonus. Dragon longsword has massive attack bonus is slightly slower than scimmy and slightly higher hits. opinions?

Somebody will probably say neither (and throw out a godsword recommendation or something), but to answer your question, I'd say dragon longsword...though you didn't mention dragon dagger (with poison). You don't get experience for the poison hits, but it helps mow through some enemies quicker which I think helps keep me interested when training it.

^You should keep a clean Drag dagger if you want to do some serious training.

Definitely use dragon scimitar, it has been proven to kill faster than d long a ridiculous amount of times, though it seems it just doesn't sink in to some people that it's better. Nevertheless, make sure you train on a PROFITABLE monster and the second you get 1.5M, buy the whip. Seriously, it's beyond comparison. Whip wins RS.

The scimitar is faster for training, although both are surpassed by a toktz-xil-ak obsidian sword with a berserker necklace. (Unless of course you're fighting undead monsters with a salve ammy.) And obviously a whip is best, but I assume that's what you're training your attack for.

yes the obby sword with necklace is better, use normal attack pots to help only like 70 gp per dose

train at flesh crawlers i got 60-65 str and 40-60 def there and got over 3m on another account

scimmy beats the long for each skill (exept if youre training controlled OC)

There are three sides to every story: There's one side, there's the other, and there's the truth.

dagger wins over all. its fast and has a decent att bonus

No, the scimitar is the same speed as the dagger with better stats. The dragon dagger is useful only for the special attacks. But like I said, the obby sword + zerker necklace beats all dragon weapons for training any time you aren't fighting undead. (Undead monsters, by the way, are probably your best method anyway...you just need a couple quests out of the way first.)

In a situation where are Dragon Dagger is not an option, go with the Dragon Longsword. It's almost equal to the scim beside a small speed difference, and it has a 100x* better spec...

scimitar because it can hit 3 hits when longsword hits 2. The hits will add up like 300 hits to 200.

gl, if I can throw another recommendation for where to train, I remember getting 70 att on experiments in the Creature of Fenkinstein quest; its boring as hell :? but 400 exp for a lvl 25 monster :o

Dragon longswords are not that slow...

Dragon scimitar vs. Longsword is just more of a personal preference. There will always be people who hate scimitars and ones that loath longswords. I used to use a longsword but now I have a scimitar just to shut up all the people that tell me off whenever I use a longsword. They're almost equal in my opinion.

Unfortunately, this isn't an opinion based discussion.

Dragon scimitar gets more XP and does more damage in every situation. Game over. Non negotiable. 'Personal Preference' doesn't apply, unless you want to get less XP for a (cooler?) looking sword.

Yes so he should go with the dragon scimitar then. After all Jagex wouldn't make such a hard quest for a weapon that isn't as good as one from an easier quest. (Dragon longsword is still pretty awesome O:) )
