February 22, 200917 yr Mod Timbo posted this on RSOF: Hey guys, We have been working on a competition for clans to participate, run by us guys - Jagex. Posted below is the latest draft that we have come up with after some feedback from the Clan Leaders and other J-Mods. This isn't going to be the draft that we run with and that is why it's here! We're looking for your feedback and constructive criticism on each of the Cups. Here's a quick introduction about the Cups. Your clan can enter as many of the cups that you think you have a good chance at winning. So this means that even the most battle hardened Pkers can try their hand at the Skilling Cup. You don't have to win all of the Cups to win the 'overall' cup, there is none. Everything listed below in the next post is just a proposal, this includes all of the rules, rewards and other features about the Cups. You may not agree with some of the decisions that has been made, F2P Clan Wars for example. What we have tried to do is ensure that as many people can participate as possible. Divisions within each cup, or new cups, for types of people like pures and splitting P2P/F2P are being thought about for any future cups. At the minute, these won't be happening. I'm going to be getting all of the feedback before 11pm GMT on Thursday 26th Feburary. If you could try to get all of your ideas/opinions before then, that would be fantastic! You do not have to take part in every cup unless you want to, there is no 'all or nothing' approach. You can join the Combat/Combined without having to take part in the Skilling Cup and vice-versa for all of the other combinations. General Rule breakers. If you break any of the rules listed by the Cup, or arranged between the two clans, it will be reviewed by Jagex and a decision made based on the severity of the rule break. Referees. There will be a J-Mod at every war for the Combat and Combined Cups and we have our own methods of tracking the Skilling Cup. Combat Cup This will be a round robin affair with the opponents drawn from a hat live in-game. All clans wishing to participate should register in the registration thread within the next two weeks. Fight to be held in F2P safe Clan Wars There is no player cap There is no returning Time and date of fight should be decided between the clans before the deadline for that round When time and date of the bout has been decided, both clans must post a member list in the Combat Cup thread. J-Mods will be refereeing every match to ensure the rules are being upheld. No one can enter the arena who is not on that member list. Any disputes should be made in writing within 24 hours of the finish of the fight in the Jagex Cup Management thread. Skilling Cup There will be two 1 week skilling sessions. Each week will have a different skill for the clan to work on and will be chosen live in-game. All clans wishing to participate should register in the registration thread within the next two weeks. Each clan must submit a list of 10 names prior to the first skill being named in the Skilling Cup thread. We will give a time of when we will be announcing the skill to give you time to get your members listed. The skills may consist of Cooking, Woodcutting, Fletching, Fishing, Firemaking, Crafting, Smithing, Mining, Herblore, Thieving, Agility, Farming, Hunter, Construction or Runecrafting. In order to keep it purely skilling, you must not buy any resources from the Grand Exchange in the skilling period to be used towards the skill announced. Eg. You must not buy all the ingredients to make a Tuna & Sweetcorn potato if the skill is Cooking. Over the week, at least 8 of the registered 10 names must spend at least 5 hours on the selected skill in at least one hour blocks. During that session, the majority of XP gained must be in the selected skill. Before you start a skilling session, equip a chefs hat (that will identify to us that you are starting a skilling session, this is essential). We will then take an average of all the time spent skilling and the XP gained to give each clan an average score per hour, the highest clan over both sessions wins. The week will run from 00:00 Monday to 23:59 Saturday in GMT. Any disputes should be made in writing within 24 hours of the results being posted in the Jagex Cup Management thread. Combined Cup This will be a round robin affair with the opponents drawn from a hat live in-game. All clans wishing to participate should register in the registration thread within the next two weeks. Fight to be held in the Stealing Creation minigame There is a cap of 20 players Time and date of the contest should be decided between the clans before the deadline for that round When time and date of the contest has been decided, both clans must post a list of 20 members that will attend the contest in the Combined Cup thread. No one can enter the minigame who is not on that member list. J-Mods will be refereeing every match to ensure the rules are being upheld. Any disputes should be made in writing within 24 hours of the finish of the fight in the Jagex Cup Management thread. Rewards This is still under discussion but what I have thought about is: A news post on the homepage detailing all of the winners of each Cup, congraulating them on winning. An article for each of the clans that wins each cup, linked to from the news post, detailing the clan's history and how they won the Cup that they did. In-game banners for the clans that won the Cup they won. (These would be given to the players who were in the winning clan at the time of winning the cup.) Additional Information Combat Cup: We are aware that the Forests map won't work so it won't be available to be used for a war. There are some specific rules for each war that some clans might want to agree on. Such things include having magic enabled and infinite run. We aren't sure to have a blanket rule for every war or just let each clan decide these rules, and stick by them, when arranging the war. Combined Cup: Some people don't like the 20 player cap but it is mixed reactions. Some people would like less people and some people would like more, what do you think it should be? Quickfind code on RSOF: 89-90-886-58422706 What are your opinions on this? You're accusing me of bigotry, how ironic. It's a nice attempt at argument, but your responses are facile and asinine, if not diatribe. Who's arrogant now?
February 22, 200917 yr It seems good. I know BK is planning to participate. "It's not a rest for me, it's a rest for the weights." - Dom Mazzetti
February 22, 200917 yr That looks quite fun, hopefully it turns out as well as it sounds . Leader of Nexus Solace FAhttp://www.nx-clan.com/
February 22, 200917 yr Oh wow, I am really becoming impressed with JaGeX. They have been trying to help the clan world, and hosting a tournament really helps. I am hoping that pkm would be joining, I wanna have a banner of PKM ingame :D
February 23, 200917 yr Awesome job by Jagex. We will be able to see how fansite clans will do against RSOF clans.
February 23, 200917 yr It's gonna be interesting for sure. With love to one, friendship to many, and good will to all.
February 23, 200917 yr I will force Ashozzy and Ahmet Cinar to take note of these cups. >:) I'm very happy to hear Jagex is taking this "event-hosting" initiative and extending the olive branch to clans. Obviously, clans that are fansite based will have a bit of an unfair advantage, due to organization and experience. However, not a lot of fansite clans are experienced in all-styles combat--which I think this will be. Perhaps some of the RSOF clans will have the upper hand there? Still, after rereading the rules for the competition...they still don't really address clans as a group. I still feel that Jagex is regarding clans as just a bunch of pkers out together rather than a cohesive force. Maybe that's just me.
February 23, 200917 yr Hope DF attends this should be some good laughs fighting RSB clans  , fighting non RSB clans would be more fun Proud Warlord of DragonwoodIf it's natural to kill, how come men have to go into training to learn how? ~ Joan Baez Rest in Peace 3xtermination
February 23, 200917 yr If there is a God in Heaven then the final will be Corr vs DF - that would be awesome to be a part of lol. I know corr plan on entering and it'll be really interesting fighting clans outside of the 5 or so we usually fight. I'm looking forward to it :). Proud Leader of the Corruption Clan. PM me to set up a fight or for any queries relating to my clan.

Pity those RSB clans won't have a chance though :( "It's not a rest for me, it's a rest for the weights." - Dom Mazzetti
February 23, 200917 yr I wouldn't mind participating in one of these. I'll try and get *-P.K.Masters-* in on it and hopefully we'll also be able to see how we match up with other clans. :
February 24, 200917 yr Can see it being big thing turned failure, its Jagex remember It's certainly possible, but at least they are trying. "It's not a rest for me, it's a rest for the weights." - Dom Mazzetti
February 24, 200917 yr Regardless of how badly it's organised or not, it will be awesome to smash lots of last minute mass recruited teams. Proud Retired Council of The GladiatiorzClick here for our website - 110+ F2P Combat Requirements
February 25, 200917 yr Can see it being big thing turned failure, its Jagex remember We won't know until it happens. :P If we all have a positive attitude about it, then there's less chance of anything bad happening. ;)
February 26, 200917 yr It's a step forward. Remember when Jagex didn't even support clans? I think those RSB clans will get demolished. It's rare for an RSB-based clan to achieve our type of organization. *-P.K.M-* Website
February 26, 200917 yr Mori will be participating, think it will be interesting to compete in, allthough unless divisions come in the powerhouse clans will dominate. I think it will be interesting fighting rsb clans as some of them claim to be quite organised. Plus we have to remember their wont be boundarys so that will make it more itnresting to. I think it will be interesting fighting rsb clans as some of them claim to be quite organised. Plus we have to remember their wont be boundarys so that will make it more itnresting to. They said that clans can agree on extra rules themselves when setting up the fight, so corr will ask for melee+binds and centre boundaries just to keep things simple. And yeah, I've talked to a few people in rsb clans and the top ones think they have a chance, as apparently they do use things like teamspeak or ventrilo to organise themselves. Will be interesting to see, thought I still doubt they could beat us. When we run into random rsb clans in the wilderness we usually clear them entirely within 5 minutes - I don't see why cwa would be much harder. Proud Leader of the Corruption Clan. March 9, 200917 yr Awesome idea. It'll be good to get some more-organized competition (the orginizational skills of my fellow clanmates has been, no offence, lacking... :P )
