Anyway. Since im not a big fan of barrows armour i would have to go with void(if you already have it).

void mage is horrible.

 

Isnt that what everyone says about melee void? Yet everywhere i go i see people using it #-o

With 30%, I think it might be Void, but it's really situational. If you're doing anything where you might get hit, Ahrims hands down. If you're mostly safe spotting, then it's a toss up between void and Ahrims, but I'd personally choose void.

the majority of mage offense so depending on ur other equipment void probaly wouldn't be very good compared to ahrims

but the thing with void is that it has great range defence for mage robes so realy if your keeping meleers at a distance void is the way to go, but i use airms personaly because i dont have void (but im working on it) and i dont do alot of pvping.

Void melee and void range each increase both your accuracy and power. Mage just increases your accuracy, and I doubt that the percentage is enough to make up for all of that lost mage bonus. No personal experience, though.

And to clear up thousands of misconceptions: Void Range DOES NOT increase accuracy. It increases damage output. Armadyl and DragonHide increase accuracy. Void Melee increases both attack and strength. I own everr piece of void, have died with it, and gotten it back, and Mage simply is not any good.

The RS KB clearly states:

 

 

 

 

Void mage helm: +30% to Magic attack

 

Void ranger helm: +10% to Attack and damage

 

 

 

 

What "misconceptions" are you talking about? Ranged attack = Accuracy

It does increase accuracy, but not as much as D'hide etc.

 

 

 

For mage void, the most magic attack you can get is like 40? add 30% to it and it is nowhere as near to 100 with Ahrims.

 

But you get range defense which Ahrim does not ;)

I'd have to say Ahrims

 

 

 

However, with a 3a amulet, inf boots, master wand, Arcane (or was it spectral) spirit shield, god cape and a seers ring, your base accuracy (74 I think) is already very decent, so with void on top of that, it might be close to as good as ahrims, if not a little bit better.

 

 

 

Void IS the only option if you want a bit of ranged def through magic armour though.

People don't like void melee because they assume that it gives a 10% bonus; it's actually around 15% according to Compfreak. Cruel joke on Jagex's part, perhaps?

Ah, this reminds me about the noob on the Runescape forums who was upset with the quest "Cold War" because apparently his grandparents died in the war. :wall:
