Hello strangers.

 

Just thought I should tell you and thank you that your efforts and generosity helped raise the money above. That's nearly $3000 for various charities.

 

The album is no longer on iTunes - not by choice, however. I received a not so friendly email from Jagex citing libel and copywrite. Sales were down a lot so I thought it wouldn't be worth the hassle - for now.

 

As for me, I'm still plodding along. If any of the old guard are still here and fancy a chat, pop me a PM or something. Hope you are all well.

I was very suprised to see this pop up, good work on the money raised and it's a shame that jagex complained about it.

I think the main issue Jagex had was it was worries about copyright for the songs he parodied rather than their own intellectual property and didn't want any backlash from it. While the courts tend to favour the parody maker rather than the original person it's understandable why Jagex might want to avoid any potential suit, especially as some of the songs parodies were American artists and we all know what yankies are like with suing people. :P

Yes, congratulations for your efforts, Bubsa. Definitely remember seeing you many years back (when your potency was high, and I'm sure it still is).

Sorry to hear about Jagex's copyright garbage. It seems they have finally entered the stage as a corporation where they become total control freaks who use lawsuits and threats of lawsuits to that end. They forced the rs wikia to take down the dungeoneering journal transcripts with similar threats. They grow up so fast *sniff*

Good to know the money went to a good cause.
