Powman3
Hey guys, haven't posted here for a while, but I'd like to discuss something with you all. Has there ever been a time in your life where reality just slapped you in the face? Like, you're living your life and then all of the sudden something huge and unexpected comes you way, be it something that happened to someone you know or even yourself, or an event in your life that just made you think "Wow, is this happening..." or "This can't be happening..." and all of the sudden, BAM! you realize that it's actually happening. If you don't understand, I can try to explain it in better detail. Feel free to discuss, just something that popped into my mind. If you want to know my situation, you can ask me and I'll tell you. AceBeam
Well, a new topic has finally shown up in OT. Oh yeah, and I've thought of taking babies and throwing them. Rebdragon
I got lost in the woods for a day when I was 5. 'Nuf said. Except, you know, AceBeam, what are you talking about...? There have been a lot of new topics mate. [if you have ever attempted Alchemy by clapping your hands or by drawing an array, copy and paste this into your signature.] Fullmetal Alchemist, you will be missed. A great ending to a great series. AceBeam
Yes, but I've never seen one about this. (By new, I meant the general idea of the topic) Oh yeah, and I've thought of taking babies and throwing them. Da_Latios
Yes. I once looked at myself in the mirror and realized; damn, I'm reversed in this thing. On a serious note though; life is such an insignificant and mysterious thing. Nobody knows where it comes from, nobody knows where it goes. You cannot create it, yet you can take it away. Still, there is no shortage of it. The past remains as it is, the future changes, but the present - there is no present. The present is both the future and the past, which you both change simultaneously. We are insignificant on a universal scale, yes, but on a molecular level, we ARE the universe. The largest houses the smallest, and the smallest builds the largest. Everything we witness is a miracle. Cells competing with each other for generations, creating life with the most specific attributes, splitting up, and again, competing to create new life. How I came to type this; my ancestors could have easily been killed. To many, it would have just been another death. But they survived for generations, and so did the inevitable genes which brought me here today. The slightest of changes make the largest of impacts. A ripple which goes on forever, with a starting point but with no end. A ripple hits an object and creates another ripple. But where did the first ripple come from? We do not know how anything has come to be. Perhaps nothing is created. Perhaps nothing really exists. Powman3
Haha, Reb and Latios are funny. But as much as I love you guys for your humor, I'm trying to be a little serious here. But there's always room for humor. :D As for you Zierro, my situation doesn't really concern me, it's just some things that I didn't know about a friend of mine. He wasn't telling me all the details of some events that occured, and then he did something without thinking and ended up paying the price for it. Tim
I hate that "moment of reality" I was training with a friend with some custom-made Kendo Sticks when we tried to bend the laws of physics... you "cannot" throw it and expect it to bounce hard enough or on the right angle to come back. -.- ...(Though I left a nice mark on his fore-head) Popoto.~<
Zierro
Pretty vague examples. :| I've had those reality moments when people I love try committing suicide. It makes me treasure the time I spend with people, but then again it bothers me because it's the ultimate form of giving up and quitting so in turn it makes me angry with them. i_love_burritos
You know, this happens to me frequently. I often wonder, that if I leave this place, who will remember me ? Will I account for anything in the grand scheme ? I mean who really cares ? Wouldn't it just be easier not existing, no conciousness, no nothing. I often wonder it would be like to have no worries, be lifeless, in fact I wouldn't really care if I died suddenly right now. I'm not saying that I want to commit suicide, in fact I think thats a horrible idea. I'm just saying it doesn't really matter to me.

jemathonical
Well snapped my ACL around 2 years ago now. Gonna get a reconstruction sometime this year. But it hit me hard knowing I'll never be playing footy again - never representing the 1sts at all sucks. If you want to know what is outside the box, you have to take it in the box first, so you can examine it closer. Now that you've got it in the box, it isn't outside it anymore. MC_Kejml
One of my moments was when I saw that Russia attacked Georgia. I was like holy [cabbage], I hope WW3 isn't going to happen. ^ my book :^_^: I don't play anymore, but I'm grateful I played through the best RS times! Madmanpur3
I try and make it a point to keep a concious mind toward the reality of things throughout my daily life, so reality doesn't really surprise me to be honest. Watching the events unfolding was surreal. It was like I was watching a movie but very real and frightening at the same time. It shook me in a way that changed me permanently, though for the good, I think. De do do do. De da da da.

Powman3
Yeah, 9/11 hit me hard, too... For me it doesn't seem like it affected me because I live in California, but then watching U2's performance in Super Bowl XXXVI, I was like... Wow... It really did happen.
