Well, I just wanto know what all you guys think about this, who is the better captain?... James T. Kirk or Jean-Luc Picard. I am really pumped for the movie that is coming out though. Kirk has passion and human emotion that overule him sometimes, which is both good and bad. Picard has charm and wisdom. It's a tough call. transcript80 Posted April 3, 2009 Share Posted April 3, 2009 I really liked TNG -> First saw it in some re-run. Later, I saw TOS, found it dumb. It was just...too old. Now, I see the charm of that good ol'e TV series. But I liked Picard over Kirk. Kirk is too much of a renegade, loose cannon for me. I like Picard for being the tactician, military mastermind. Of course, my favorite race entered in TNG, the Borg. They ABSOLUTELY rule. Enjoyed the "Q" episodes as well. Later, I saw "Voyager". I hated it at first, skipped it after 3 episodes. Then it got in re-run, got addicted, saw practically every episode, most of them twice. I really don't like the latest star trek version, and I didn't like DS9. I then got into TNG and I watched that one a lot. Eventually, I gave Captain Kirk another chance and decided it wasn't bad. I think my favourite character in all of them is Data, though.
