I was on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno! :) VIDEO ADDED

Featured Replies

EDIT - Youtube video removed and I think Hulu and NBC have taken down the episode by now. It was on Youtube for a solid 2 weeks tho, so I tried.

Monday night I was sitting down watching a movie when a friend texted me that I was on the Headline's portion of the Tonight Show and naturally I thought he was joking. But when he told me that Jay read off the entire police report and there was no doubt it was me, and that another friend of mine that he was watching it was freaking out, I started to believe him. Now luckily since I'm an hour behind them, it wasn't on for another hour so I could watch the show and see for myself and sure as [cabbage] he read off the entire police report from my speeding incident last December.

So what was suppose to be something that nobody ever found out about, ends up making national tv.

Here's some links to the full episode on Hulu and the NBC site, and the youtube link to the video above.

The Headlines section of the show is by far my favorite part of that show, so I was pretty excited when I found out I was on it.

Here's the story behind that police report...

[hide=Story]So last semester I was packing to go home for Christmas break and I knew my fan was broke so I wouldn't have any heat in my car. Seeing as how it was below freezing outside (and inside my car) I just decided to bundle up and tough it out for the 350 mile drive. After about 2 hours though, my feet got extremely cold so I stopped to fill up with gas and see if they had any feet warmers or hand warmers or anything, I also went to put on an extra pair of socks and realized I forgot to pack my socks drawer. The gas station had absolutely nothing...except for these 2 mini Italian subs sitting on a heating rack, and that's when the revelation hit me.

I purchased the sandwiches, stuffed them in my shoes, and enjoyed the warmth that they brought my feet. Unfortunately this only lasted for like 50 miles, then it was back to the cold feet. I then decided to wrap my feet in the blanket I had in my car, but I couldn't take them off the gas pedal as my car doesn't have cruise - this is when another idea struck me. I jammed a shoe into the gas pedal to make my own cruise control and then my feet were free to warm up.

Not focusing on how fast I was going as I was too busy worrying about my feet, I ended up getting pulled over for speeding (94 in a 75 zone). The cop walks up to my door and I roll down my window, shivering like mad, and he comments on how I look a bit cold so I explained how my fan was broken so no heat. He then offered for us to go back to his car where it's nice and warm and I happily agreed, but before I could walk back to his car I had to get the sandwiches out of my shoes or else I'd be walking really funny. So I take the sandwiches out and set them on the passenger seat, and to my dismay the cop saw this and gave me the biggest wtf look ever...I told him they were makeshift feet warmers and he didn't question it any further.

In the end I was given a $130 ticket, which kind of frustrated me seeing as how he saw me shivering, saw me remove freaking sandwiches from my shoes, and it was close to the holidays. But oh well, it made headline's so I'm happy. :D[/hide]

Here let me tell most of the story in my first post, it should answer some questions (might be a few mins tho).

But what I found funny was only a select few had heard the story prior to this, so those that knew about it already were freaking out about it while those who didn't know were just confused and asked if I really had sandwiches in my shoes. :P

Nice one. Any reason why you would have sammywichies in your shoes, other then keeping them warm?

Hulu is USA-only :wall:

Can somebody paraphrase the headline for the rest of us?

Is NBC usa-only too? Because I know where to find the episode on NBC's site (it just takes longer to load) and I could add that to the first post.

Hahahahahahahahaahah

I remember reading something about someone putting sandwiches in his shoes in a car thread here, I just never linked both things together. This is pretty awesome

I told my friends that if I had just so happened to be watching the show without any warning about that being a headline, I probably would've passed out since not in my wildest dreams did I imagine this being on national tv.

But yeah, since I'm currently attending the college he mentions in the headline, I now get asked on a regular basis if my feet are cold, if I have some hot sandwiches, or if I want some hot sandwiches. :wall:

If I had been on my way back to college from home, I would've. But since I was on my way home (where the food is free) I didn't need to. Although I did consider asking my younger sister if she wanted some sandwiches, but was too pissed about the $130 I had to fork out (luckily I had sold some textbooks for $150 that same day so I had the money available at least) and just threw them away.

Try uploading it to somewhere like megaupload. Or even better we need someone to get the video and put it on YouTube so it'll be there for the rest of Tip.It to see, now and forever ::' Epic like this needs to be kept documented :D

Haha, "We debated whether to put this one on the show and the people who thought so no longer work here."

No, he says "We debated this one...some people thought it was hilarious...those people no longer work here."

There was no question that it was going on the show once he got it. ;)
