Sheep Tails
I think Cooking in Runescape is fun. I enjoy making the foods. But all the time I see people with the skillcape either going "Oh, it was soooooo boring to train, and so easy" or one being harassed by people with 1 cooking saying "O u n00b c0oking not skil it easy to tra1n". Quite a few people believe that Cooking is a buyable skill, and that it is not worth the effort etcetera. However, no one thinks about HOW people get the money, or how people migjht actually care about it. Personally, I am quite offended when someone uses "Stat Spy" (How do you use it anyway?) and calls out to me saying " U noob cooking is for noobies so u noobie" (especially when I'm much more advanced in the game than them!) When I am cooking, unlike most people (I think, don't take offense) I'm not thinking of training the skill, I'm thinking of doing the skill for the fun of it. Most people with Cooking skillcapes that I see aren't what I would call true Chefs, because they do it to show off their "awesome" skillcape, but not because they like the skill. Does anyone else feel this way? Discuss. Follower of GuthixThe quill is a miracle, for it drinks darkness and sheds light. Oh right, by the way, I'm a girl. Bouwzie
I find cooking to be a nice time-filler for when I have nothing to do, but I hardly train it. It's a kind of relaxed skill to train, so I like it.
Me_Hate_Libs
I cook so that I can eat the food. I only cook for my own personal use anymore. My level is just under 90 at the moment. No_99_Melee
I think people enjoy cooking because they don't have to click many buttons, as well they get to chat with their friends or make new ones (Ex:Rogues den is where I met most of my early friends while cooking). Also people don't like to just stand around and chat with their friends because it seems like they're unproductive. Well cooking eliminates this and gives them something to do while being social. As for it being a "nooby" skill. Well yes it is lol. On one of my other accounts I got 99 cooking with a profit in a week. Please don't go around bragging about 99 cooking, it's nothing difficult to achieve and if you think so then you are most likely new to the game and have never tried anything difficult to achieve (99 slay, 99 mining, 99 rcing, etc.). So yes while it is a fun skill it is as well a nooby skill. But hell what do you care? Do what you enjoy :P
C110
Well, I have to admit that the reason I got 99 cooking was to trim my attack cape. I started my 'way to 99' at 75 cooking, but I kinda started to enjoy it at 85 cooking. It was relaxing to train and I could to other stuff while training it. I'm not saying it is my fav. skill, and it will never be, but the skill I used to trim my cape, turned out to be more relaxing then most skills are for me. - I'm not proud of everything I've done, but I have no regrets
Great_one
i am currently cooking for the sense of personaly achievement it brings when you get a 99. and the fact that i want something to wear on my back when a new quest comes out :wall:
Zierro
That's how it is with all skills. There are players who enjoy the skill and there are players that enjoy the leveling. Personally, the only skills I can say I truly enjoyed were Woodcutting and Slayer.
gorgoroth
I started cooking because i was too bored to do anything else (i was f2p, not much to do when youre level 111) and i found myself getting addicted to it. 2 weeks later i went from 70 - 99. BabyPunchers
i am currently cooking for the sense of personaly achievement it brings when you get a 99. That's the feeling of tremendous shame. Weird how easily 99 Cookers can get the two feelings confused. Thanks to all those who have messaged me concerning a revamp of my Range-Slayer guide. You're what? 135 combat with 3 skills in the 50s... Oh please, you're the one who should feel tremendous shame. Tirmenat's Skilling Blog

Weird how easily 99 Cookers can get the two feelings confused. wow thanks! i have a quest cape to. wana dis that too even though it currently has infinite difficulty? Well, not really. Infinite difficulty would suggest that you have to have an infinite level in a skill. While new quests get released, they will not have infinite difficulty, and therefore, your argument is invalid. Racheya
Runescape is something people do when they're bored. Training a skill usually isn't fun so I'd say it's both really =/ I don't consider any skill 'nooby' except strength since that's the one EVERY noob goes for 'cuz it's l33t' and you can 'pwn' someone with it. Cooking is a decent skill. I edit for the [Tip.It Times]. I rarely write in [My Blog]. I am an [Ex-Moderator].

Obtaurian
Cooking was my second favorite skill in Classic up until early RS2. The only time I cooked fish was when I would fish for monks when I first started training Slayer years ago. Other than that, I got up to about 65 Cooking making pies, cakes, etc. Fun stuff. I don't think I'll ever just buy a ton of sharks and do the AFK thing. I love cooking. It's one of two skills that I will willingly train inefficiently. Mining is the other, and it was my favorite skill for four years. To put it bluntly, [bleep] off.
Pinkbullet3
Let me ask. Do you cook in real life when you're bored? :-s Ye, I know it's not the question, but now that I think of it, going around gathering the ingredients to make things sounds like a "mini-quest" to me. Ooo, the fun. ^ Blog.
Jimmyw3000
I cooked till 86 so i'd stop burning swordfish and thn till 90 to make it look good. Now I only cook when i need to (ie. making pizzas)
strilmus
I cook because it gives me something to do with the large piles of fish I get from fishing. I keep the two skills about equal. Also it's handy to have large piles of cooked fish when I need to train combat. You should try cooking in RL, though. Mmm.
