May 25, 200917 yr Hi there, i am now very close to my goal of a bandos godsword (17m/17.3m) And i was wondering, is it worth buying? As in the aspect of, are my combat skills high enough to make it worth buying? Another option would be a dfs + whip. Please give me your thoughts on this. May 25, 200917 yr I've never actually tested it, but from what I've heard, whip + dfs is better in almost any case. The extra defense is great for bosses and the dfs is great for pking and boss monsters. The only time a godsword would be better that I can think of is 1 item pking, but if you're going to do that, you'd be better off with d claws for only a couple million more. YouTube

Instead use whip + defender, and then for monsters with higher defence (Abyssal demons, Gargoyles, and also Waterfiends), you can use the Godsword. Also when you are doing prayer tasks (Black demons, Dark beasts etc) the prayer bonus on the GS is useful. At higher def levels, the bonus from the DFS isn't actually needed, but you might find that you do need it until you get to about 90 defence.

Whip and defender is best for slayer, i would argue Saradomin Godsword is the only other alternative for a primary slayer weapon. BGS is slow, and the spec is useless for slayer. Whip and defender is fast, and most slayer monsters have low defence. Use a BGS for monster hunting or minigames like castle wars. And when was the last time Gargoyles had high defence? May 25, 200917 yr I'd save those money, as BGS wouldn't do any good at your stats. And tbh, don't bother with DFS, the old boring defender are and will be the best shield for melee. May 25, 200917 yr I have almost 79 defence and I havent found one spot other than Bosses or possibly hard quest monsters to use a DFS over a Defender to be honest. But DFS is so sexy. Defenders just a little blue butterknife. I dont need a siggy no moar.

Dfs=Whip is better, if you get the BGS im sure you'll get bored with it quickly, as with everyone I know with a BGS had done.

Rune defenders for the win. well get a guy of 60 str, 60 def, 60 def fight a pure with 1 def... i know who i'll be voting for -.- pures is good for low level. at high level they suck bc of the lack of defence. ot go with dfs and whip, faster kills means more money... on the other hand you should take what you like more! (a whip is good but i get bored with the weapon quickly)
