The one thing i can't understand how it will work with Natal is being able to move around on screen, eg forwards/backwards/left/right with out the use of a controller.

i will *buy* project natal if you can change the "person," not really interested in a 10 yr old kid annoying me. gimme an 18 yr old spanish girl pls

From the stuff I've been getting (just the biggest highlights on IGN and what I pick up here) regarding my old pal Nintendo, I'm less impressed than I feel I should be. Not much on the Motion+, nothing really special announced, and nothing really special to talk about. Most interesting to me was Metroid, but I'm not sure how Team Ninja's gonna be with it... I haven't played any Ninja Gaiden, but I really like what Retro did. And anything 2d platformer imo belongs on a handeld... usually.

SMG2 is gonna be nothing special. People talk about Nintendo's cash cow, and I won't disagree, but usually it's less blatant. No new motion control or innovative gravity this time.

Metroid Prime collection will be nice though, may end up getting it actually. I never played number 2, and I can trade in 3 for about $15 at Gamestop (or so they say).

Some good 3rd party things are starting to finally come out though - Conduit should be good, and Silent Hill: Shattered Memories (even though it'll be M) looks like it would be worth my time. And Red Steel 2. Then a bunch of new High Voltage titles, riding on the hype of The Conduit (it better be f'ing amazing if they're gonna start doing that).

And what about Motion+? Is Nintendo going to do anything with it? So far only Red Steel 2 has been announced for it?

I'm starting to really hope for a PS3 price drop. I may not be able to play M games (ex. 90% of the system, and 99% of 360 exclusives (which is why 360 = no)), but at least I'll get some good games.

Maybe Nintendo is holding out on me

Darwin's Radio, stairway to stardom 2009

Miyamoto just had his roundtable conference. There will be no online play for New Super Mario Brothers Wii, and a Wii Zelda is coming in 2010.

So these are the three games Nintendo has been working on... and yes Samus Aran is back! But I find it kind of odd that Team Ninja (the makers of Dead or Alive) would collaborate with Nintendo to make Metroid: Other M.

Break the Walls down!

I think Microsoft and Sony are about equal this year with Nintendo lagging behind.

Microsoft wasn't as great as I'd hoped for one of the big three to be, but they were better than Sony or Nintendo. Garh!

2010 for Zelda, which probably means 2011, since they're developing it and only showed a concept art for Link.

I think sony edged it, new IP's, more exclusives, hardware which they could actually show live and how it can be used in FPS/RTS/TPS.

Sony have got another annoucement today, guessing its either an exclusive or the long awaited price drop.

No news of Kirby yet. :l

I'm feeling skeptical about the next Metroid. Retro did something AWESOME with the series, and although I've never played any of the 2d ones (yet), I don't feel like it could fill the gap people come to expect with this generation of console gaming :geek:

And the graphics don't look nearly as good. Prime was beautiful. That looks half cel-shaded, and (not to sound racist at all), the black guy's smile looks sort of gay. And wasn't Samus orphaned with the Chozo? And then Earth blew up? I dunno her backstory too well, but I don't think that looks right.

Regarding New Zelda: Just a picture. But Zelda's always nice. What did the time-keeper mean about Marionette, though?

And wasn't Samus orphaned with the Chozo? And then Earth blew up? I dunno her backstory too well, but I don't think that looks right.

The earth didn't blow up. Samus was born and raised on the planet K-2L (an Earth colony), Ridley murdered her parents, the space pirates killed everyone but Samus, Samus was left for dead, the Chozo orphaned her, and then she received training to become a bounty hunter.

Of course. Now why didn't I know that?

Because you don't watch retrospectives.

You can skip to Part 5 for the biography on Samus' childhood.

And to be honest the 2D sidescrollers (Super Metroid, Metroid Zero Mission) were much better than the FPS adventures (Metroid Primes 1, 2, and 3), but the FPS adventures were alright. But if you were to combine those two then you would have brought something completely fresh and new to the table, and that is Nintendo's specialty.

All Microsoft does is spit out countless FPSs.
