Kinosjourney Posted June 2, 2009 Share Posted June 2, 2009 Im currently power mining pure ess for cash since im saving for a Bandos Godsword but its so bad cash i make 60kish per hour and i wonder if its worth to get my wc up and try yews or magics? I wonder what level i should get to cut yews or magics effectivelly, and yes; i do have a Dragon hatchet. (and if someone knows what gold per hour i get for yews or magics at that wc level.) And assuming you want a decent way to make money without that much work or risk (aka combat) Then i would get 50 rc and play GOP. As far as i know, its more profitable than woodcutting even at 99, and you can afk if you play 50 50. GOP 50 50 gets like 150-200k an hour. The only reason i endorse wc is that i enjoyed the peacefullness, just got alot of time to browse forums and talk to friends, theres a clear noise when a tree falls down, so you get an idea of when to look back and check up. I'm in no way saying its good...or the best money, simply that its a very easy way to make reasonable money. You'd be better off using the 18m elsewhere, unless you go to godwars with an RSOF team about everyother day. Godswords are overrated. Really, really overrated. Sure they look cool and have high hits, but whip can out DPS them almost all the time. And don't say you want it for bragging rights, because few people will admire a BGS. Magics would be a little faster than pure essence at 99 woodcutting--magic logs are 150k gp/hr. Still, woodcutting is a mediocre moneymaker at best, and I really can't recommend it no matter how high your woodcutting is. I get 55-70k a hour atm with ess and since im gonna get 99 wc right after i afford an bgs i thought that money making on yews might be good since when i will reach enough cash for a BGS id have a nice start with 99 wc (since i will get lots of exp from cutting yews.). I recently did a test using a character with 30 mining (the minimum for pure essense) without running, using the varrock east bank and made over 100k/h. I suggest green dragons with your 80+ combat stats, even with using a protect melee and prayer pots, you should pull off around 300k an hour minimum. Also, BGS isn't that great. The only thing worth noting is the accuracy. Otherwise it's slow, two-handed, and expensive. People always gasp at a dm fighting godswords, but the speed of the whip trumps the accuracy. The SS is swung at the speed of an abyssal whip, and the two have the same stats. So the SS is basically a two-handed version of the whip; however, it has a crush setting useful for killing waterfiends, and it can train strength without using controlled. Im currently wcing (yep) willows so i can get 80-85 wc then ill cut yews and magics for profit since pure ess are boring, bad cash and non-afkable. BTW, are there any good places to train strength and/or defence with a BGS? im thinking about getting 90 def and strength after i afford a bgs and achieves 99 wc. You could always go to secondary profitable methods. There are about a million of them. Farming. Slayer. Collecting Snape grass (or other secondary ingredients for herblore). Do the math for prices today.
