July 10, 200917 yr I was thinking that this was going to be a thread on depressing music. I'm a little disappointed to say the least.. :( Cool.
July 10, 200917 yr [yt]gN2zcLBr_VM[/yt] God dammit, John Cage. I remember my music teacher telling me about that. #-o The audience must've been so confused. 8,180WONGTONG IS THE BEST AND IS MORE SUPERIOR THAN ME#1 Wongtong stalker.Im looking for some No Limit soldiers!

July 13, 200916 yr [yt]gN2zcLBr_VM[/yt] God dammit, John Cage. I actually think that was a really interesting idea. What the heck? Does he just sit there the whole time, lifting his hand a couple times? How is sitting down at a piano and not playing anything interesting?

Yeah, he also supports that there's no such thing as silence, and that things like people coughing and maybe someone who accidentally drops something are part of the music that's everywhere. I don't quite share his idea of music, but it was pretty interesting to see this. I also laugh at the idea of him playing this in woodstock.
July 17, 200916 yr Yeah, I get to be a music critic. Gonna be as fiesty as possible. Anything that was made after I was born (1988). There are a few excpetions here and there, but i'm really not interested in hearing about how you are going to cut yourself because you're a pathetic loser that can't handle anything, or how you came from a rough neighborhood because and you had to wait 3 days for your custom built ferrari to be delivered when you were 14. MTV is just such a rotting pile of trash, it really, really sad. I can't stand it. Alright, done with that little rant. Also, any techno or grunge, though grunge was a very small thing untill Nirvana. (yeah, I don't like nirvana. Get over it.) I really like that Young album Rust Never Sleeps, but it started something really awful. Any R&B made after about 1975 or so. Any disco, or anything resembling disco. What a joke. Also, most punk rock is completely overrated, but not necessarily awful. Most indie music is badly overrated. The reason it's indie is because it didn't sell. And it didn't sell because it sucked. Above all, Country. What a sorry bunch of garbage. Johnny Cash is kind of good, and a few others, but most of it, especially modern country, is just a bunch of idiotic drunks complaining about how their girlfriends leave when they break too many of their bones. :twss: Nechs require 80 Slayer and their main drop is cheap 50k rune boots. July 17, 200916 yr Author Just wondering, but what music do you like? 8,180WONGTONG IS THE BEST AND IS MORE SUPERIOR THAN ME#1 Wongtong stalker.Im looking for some No Limit soldiers!
July 17, 200916 yr Yeah, I get to be a music critic. Don't give yourself that much credit. A good, or even half-decent music critic would analyse different artists and genres from a musical basis. What you have done is simply base your shallow opinion of recent musicians on ridiculous stereotypes that do little more than show that you know absolutely nothing about music. Cool.
July 17, 200916 yr Lets see.. I'm guessing he likes classic rock. And, well, that's probably about it.

What you have done is simply base your shallow opinion of recent musicians on ridiculous stereotypes that do little more than show that you know absolutely nothing about music. That is honestly how I feel. I don't listen to much new stuff, and that may be effecting my opinion a bit. But it is simmilar to someone who listens only to R&B saying that they hate Rock. MTV is nothing but a rotting collection of trash, they play some really awful crap on there. It is a great channel to watch on mute though because it is nothing but a bunch of softcore porn put forward in a pathetically lowball attempt to sell records. It's like getting a weak version of the playboy channel, except that I don't have to call cable and ask for the expansion package. What is even more sad is the number of losers who actually buy those worthless records. I grew up listening to a collection of hundreds, if not thousands of LP's that were in my basement. I didn't see any point in buying music, or stealing it if it was already there for free. I never really got into MTV or music videos ("music commercials" would probably be a much better term). Perhaps i could have expressed that opinion in a more subtle way, but i didn't, and I am not sorry at all. I don't find anything creative about a grown man crying in public, or cutting up his arms, or delibbrately making up nonsensical stories about his background to sell records because he has no talent and cannot make any money without doing those things in addition to making those stupid videos. I think it's very, very sad, and I think such "artists" are nothing but another piece of trash in the filthy, stinking dumpster that is our modern pop culture. And now that I have gotten mush deeper than I like to go and i'm feeling a little akward, i'll end the post there. :twss: Nechs require 80 Slayer and their main drop is cheap 50k rune boots. July 17, 200916 yr Why isn't trash creative? You didn't get any deeper by the way, you just repeated yourself. You've got absolutely nothing interesting to say. It's a shame you're taking yourself so seriously. I think I may have used the wrong word, I was just getting an akward feeling from how long I was ranting on. It's really a matter of preference, new rock bands all sound exactly the same to me. I have the idea that some music executive just drives by college campuses, picks up some good looking kids, and tells them what to do and say. Or he takes some desprate kid who thought he was going to be a rock star and forces him into a contract. Basically, to sum it up, I really hate MTV. If you didn't get that from my posts, I just said it again for you. :twss: Nechs require 80 Slayer and their main drop is cheap 50k rune boots. Give nechs a better drop!!
July 17, 200916 yr Ok that's great. That still doesn't give you any reason to hate any music after '88. Considering I already guessed what kind of music you enjoy I assume you've made no effort at all to find something interesting and out of your bounds to listen to. Oh well.

Considering I already guessed what kind of music you enjoy I assume you've made no effort at all to find something interesting and out of your bounds to listen to. Oh well. It was just a general statement, and I did say that there were exceptions. But my girlfriend, and virtually everyone else I have to deal with loves MTV, and I never have. It is not just a mindless blanket decision that I consciously made. And those "bounds" aren't very narrow. :twss: Nechs require 80 Slayer and their main drop is cheap 50k rune boots. July 17, 200916 yr You have a girlfriend? I thought you never left your basement. :D You can do some very nice things with a girlfriend and a basement, though. Signature by Maurice SendakWhen the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore!
July 17, 200916 yr We get it, you don't like MTV or popular music. Most people here don't. That still doesn't mean there isn't a ton of music after '88 that is incredible. That's my only point, there is good music outside your little bounds of classic rock. You just have to try and look a little bit. You have a girlfriend? I thought you never left your basement. :D You can do some very nice things with a girlfriend and a basement, though.
July 17, 200916 yr You have a girlfriend? I thought you never left your basement. :D You can do some very nice things with a girlfriend and a basement, though. I no longer live there, now I just steal the copies online whenever I remember an LP that I miss. I think that it is rather unfair to dismiss an entire gereration of artists as "little bounds". I have hundreds of albums on my computer, none of which is stolen music, of course. It's not as if i just cut everything off at exactly January 1, 1988. it just seems like I don't like 90's stuff. And so what if I don't like it? I can like whatever I choose to like and not like. I enjoy being a cynical jerk, and i'll ignore any record I want. I could just as easily say that many people are incredibly ignorant about classical rock, and that they need to come out of their "small bounds". Why are you so concerned with my musical preference? In the words of the Animals, "It's my life and I'll do what I want It's my mind and I'll think what I want" And thats getting to be very corny, or cheesy or something bad. I'll stop typing now, before it gets any worse. :twss: Nechs require 80 Slayer and their main drop is cheap 50k rune boots. Give nechs a better drop!!
July 17, 200916 yr corny and cheesy aren't necessarily bad, though. You shouldn't limit yourself so much, what do you get out of it? absolutely nothing! Why would you want to be a cynical jerk? they're funny for five minutes and then it's "oh, there's that cynical jerk again, lets get out!". First you disagreed with me, now you are apparently trying to be a shrink. that's a little corny, or a llittle cheesy, and imo, it is bad. Please don't go off topic, and just respond to the relevant points. the topic is "music that make you want to kill yourself" and I posted the music that does indeed make me want to do that. I don't see why we have to have a huge debate over it. :twss: Nechs require 80 Slayer and their main drop is cheap 50k rune boots. Give nechs a better drop!!

I agree with you on the topic of MTV to an extent; they do play some terrible music on there. However, there are some very good Pop artists out there that are also very well-known and probably receive some airplay on MTV. There are good and bad artists in every genre, and similarly, there have been good and band artists in every decade. I just think it's a little narrow-minded to say that you don't enjoy music after '88 when you haven't really given it a chance. Oh well, your loss. Cool.
