Zaaps1
I would like to see more special units however. For example, you could build a wall. Everything behind the wall can attack anything in front of the wall, but not vice versa. You could also add Siege Towers to counter the walls. Maybe even mobile walls. Also there should be units you can't walk through, like Brawlers in PC. They would add more strategic elements to the game. Likewise, you could add medics that heal other squads, but are quickly decimated in combat. And I would like to see an option to move more than 1 squad at a time. ~It's Super Effective! JoeDaStudd
Its a weird minigame. Regardless of the triangle if you focus all your force on one unit at a time you can win pretty much every match. A lot of players spread there team sending a 2 or 3 units at a time. Of course this is easily counter by sending half your army destroying them before they can counter. With the rest of your army waiting for the counter. The whole thing reminds me of when my brother was little and used to just spam units on AoE2 to win games. Only with this minigame theres no counter for spaming units, unlike decent RTS's. There no real benefit from backing out of a fight (no heal restore) nor is the any reason to skirmish. My suggestion would be increase the triangle impact for elves and goblins, but add the need for ammo (runes and arrows/bolts) which would be at the tent. This way only the dwarfs would be able to keep fighting, but be much weaker vs elves. Like zaaps said add the ability to heal either by unit or location to allow for tactics. And you only need 300 rank to imbue onyx. ~It's Super Effective! Jagex could have easily made the imbued price alot higher, but if you tried alcing the imbued one, then idk... the trick is to balance all of these methods to get 99 and either play real life or train another skill while farming. 635th to 99 Farming 12/16/

Wachtwoord
Quest kit sounds ...useless. I played 2 games on release day, i got angry with the horid controls (lag in commanding, no idle unit indicator, no mass selecting) I decided - oh screw this and logged. 2 days later I got bored. won 5 in a row with no special units but I was disspointed with the lack of tactics. but still satisifed Next day I logged in, won 3 lost 2 and then decided to play AOE2 for some real tactics and spent quite a bit of time enjoying it Funny, this game made play AOE2 again too. When everything's been said and done, more has been said than done. All skills 80+

If you read andrews Dev diary-type thing, it clearly states this minigame pushes the limits of their coding and knowledge in the coding. I hate to use the line, but you do better! If Jagex can't do any more with their engine, i doubt barely anybody in the world can do. The game has alot of people playing it, it wasn't inteded to have half of rs playing it, it is after all a mini-game, it probably has just as much in playing as ohter minigames. The reason i think people seem to see it as a bit of a flop, is because it was too overhyped, which is something i always hate Jagex doing, because it can never be as good as you hype, it's impossible really. Me_Hate_Libs
Well, the reason for it being a flop is definitely because of the overhype then the actual content delivered. I mean there is falling short of expectations, and this thing which is an outright flop. Not to say flops don't turn out to be classics later on. Caddyshack, Idiocracy, movies like that were flops in their release, but became cult classics later. As far as me doing better, you missed my point. Put aside the coding, time developed, bugs, all that. The game itself, mechanics, logic, strategies, playability, the whole package... Well, it still sucks. :wall: This website and its contents are copyright © 1999 - 2010 Jagex Ltd.

Outsanity
I think the minigame is a success for one reason and one reason only: The rings. They are the strongest rings in runescape now and the onyx ring is so powerful compared to any ring before MA was released. Not only do you get +6 in all attack bonuses, making it great for hybriding at DK's, but the +6 to all defense bonuses makes it the best ring for defense in gwd and other places where you're being hit by multiple types of attacks. |2,300+ Total|138 Combat|12 Lvl 99 Skills|99 Slayer|
JoeDaStudd
I was mulling this over and the more and more I think about it the more it seems the better option. Replace the RTS (real time strategy) with a TBS (turn based strategy). The select single unit is fail for a RTS, but with a TBS its ideal as your never allowed to control more then one at a time anyway. This can also emphasize the different styles. Mages and rangers could do damage from a few squares away, but both being weaker then they are now to melee. But that kinda of kills the whole "OMFG they made a RTS within RuneScape?!?!?". Personally I was hoping for something more like a chess game, but then again isn't that what armies of [insert the world of RS] is about?
